Rain:

I woke up feeling like a dark cloud hung over me, not because it was the next day of school or the thought that Justin had my phone, it was because Justin's phone kept buzzing all throughout the night. I counted forty-six buzzes and lost count, after that I went to sleep. I guess whoever was texting him didn't have any friends or was really obsessed. I arrived at school on time today, equipped with leftovers from my dad's job. I was excited to get to English class after all English was my best subject but the happy thought immediately left my head because Justin phone vibrated again, I figure I try to find him after Mrs. Foster class the same place we met in the hallway yesterday. When I walk into Mrs. Foster English class I see the desk arranged in a circle with a textbook placed on each desk.

I sit in the seat closest to the door, the classroom is scarce of students as expected I guess everyone wanted to come in class during the two minute bell. Just as I'm taking out my notebook out my backpack, Mrs. Foster walks up to me "Rain Thompson" she says as she tilts her head "Yes" I say uncertainty wondering whether or not I'm in trouble. "Nice to meet you" she says with a smile while handing me a pink paper. "Make sure your parents sign it" she says as she walks away from me and towards her desk. The pink paper is basically her syllabus I began to start skimming through it when suddenly the two minute bell rings, Immediately I can hear sneakers scuffling in the hallway, with loud chatter followed by few students shouting "get out the way" and "move I gotta get to class". Students began to come in Mrs. Foster class and fill up the seats, I was praying whoever sat next to me was nice.

I try to finish skimming through Mrs. Foster syllabus when suddenly I feel someone gently tug on my blue beanie I quickly turn around to find Justin standing above me "hey" he says wearing white tee and a pair baggy Levi's "um hey" I say not sure on how to greet him. He plops down to a seat next me. I instantly pull out his phone from my back pocket "Here you go "I say stretching out my arm. He stares at me for a few seconds then looks at the phone "how did you get that?" he says looking at me discouraged. "you gave it to me yesterday remember when you bumped into me" I say waving the phone in his face. "If I remember correctly, you bumped into me" he says with grin. I place his phone on the center textbook "So where's my phone?" I say crossing my arms. "In my locker "he says nonchalantly. "In your locker!" I shout. Mrs. Foster stops writing on the board to look at us "I'm sorry" I say quickly. "No, she not" a random girl calls out. "Okay class, turn to page 142 in your textbooks" she says in an animate voice. I tune out Mrs. Foster and turn my attention to Justin "Why would you leave my phone in a locker?" I say in a harsh whisper. "First off I didn't know that was your phone, I really wasn't looking and second why do you think I left my phone in my locker?" he says showing me his status bar on his phone that had over 106 unread text messages.

"Oh" I say looking down at my desk. "Don't worry I'll give you your phone afterschool" he says fumbling through his phone. "Afterschool? My mom's picking me up" I say clutching my pen. "Don't worry I got you but you gotta wait for me after I get off football practice" he says looking at me with his brown hazel eyes. "Sure" I say while slinking down on my seat. Truth was I wasn't sure that my parents were cool enough to let some boy drop me off at home. "Come on rain don't be under the weather" Mrs. Foster says not realizing the joke she had made, the classroom erupts into laughter. Including Justin I brush it off cause I'm use to the petty jokes already. My mind was focused on being alone with Justin in the car and whether or not Symone texted me

"Class please quite down let's try to finish reading the prologue to Romeo and Juliet" Mrs. Foster says waving her hands up and down. The class quiet's down except for Justin who laughing his ass off. "Mr. Miles I wouldn't be laughing, soon or later you'll run out of gas and you won't be able to afford to take this class for the third time" she says sternly. Justin wipes his face with his hand as if he's trying to erase the frustration. The bell rings, thus concluding the class, Justin storms out the classroom furiously I try to catch up with him to confirm my ride "Justin" I say grabbing his arm. "It's not my fault I had to take that stupid ass class again "he says now stopping in middle hallway. "What do you mean?" I say still holding onto his arm which is all muscle. Justin looks around onto to other students passing by us in the hallway then looks onto me and he leans towards me whispering "she failed me because I turned her down".
