CHAPTER 4

Ellie's POV

I felt something moving behind me and before I knew it, I started rubbing my eyes encouraging myself to wake up.

Shit!

I was sleeping in Noah's living room and so was everyone else! We must have fallen asleep through the movie and nobody really bothered to go home since it was a Friday night.

But this wasn't my choice.

I needed to get home.

Now.

Before I make things worse.

I sat up and realised that nobody else was actually awake yet, Dylan was squished in right next to me and I was scared in case I crushed him last night.

On the other side of me was his big brother. Hunter must have had his arms around me all night because it was underneath me when I got up.

I stood up to go and freshen up in the bathroom when I felt a hand pull me back down.

Hunter was up.

"Where are you going?" He questioned me and glanced at my sleeping brother.

"To the bathroom, why?" I got curious but kind of already knew what he was going to say.

"I thought you were going to try to go home" he said under his breath but I just caught on and didn't really know what to say to him, I was planning to do exactly that.

I guess he noticed my guilty face as he said "you were, weren't you?" He said rhetorically looking slightly angry.

"Hunter, you don't understand" I exclaimed, "the longer I stay away, the bigger my dad will hit back"

"I won't let that happen" he assured me.

"Trust me".

I looked down onto my lap before bringing my knees to my chest and hugging myself.

Hunter sat up properly and placed his warm arms around me in a comforting hug. "You have to trust me, it's the only way we'll get through this" he paused "together".

And if I'm being completely honest, I may not fully trust him yet but he's doing everything he can to make me see that I can, and let me tell you, it's working.

"El?" I heard Levi's voice sound out before he quickly stood up taking in his surroundings then running into my arms.

I felt Dylan shift beside me to and could feel him rubbing his eyes "I want in on it to" he voiced out as we all started at him in confusion.

"Hunt" Dylan exclaimed and when Hunter looked at him he held up his arms.

It was probably the cutest thing I'd ever seen, Dylan ran straight into Hunter's arms and sat down the same way Levi was.

"What's wrong wee man" Hunter asked his little brother confused.

"I had a nightmare about- abou-" he may or may not have told us but I guess we'll never know because before he could, Hunter interrupted him quickly saying he didn't have to say anything he didn't feel comfortable with.

It's been an hour since I woke up along with Hunter and our brothers.

It was still quite early so Hunter exaggerated his point of us all having to get an official amount of time to sleep if we wanted our brains to fully function in the morning to help stop us from making any 'irrational decisions' but in other words, it was aimed at me from when he caught me trying to leave with Levi this morning.
