A/N: There's some smut in this chapter, but nothing is graphic. It's mostly told in Violet's thoughts as it's happening.

We finally get home. I take my jacket off and hang it on the rack. "Buuuuddy..." I say

"Yes?" he responds.

"What do you wanna do tonight?" I ask, sitting on the couch.

Buddy sits next to me and smiles. "I dunno, what do you wanna do?"

"Hmmm," I lean down and untie my saddle shoes. "It's only 5 or so."

"Yeah, do you wanna stay in? Watch The Day The Earth Stood Still? I think it's playing at 6 on channel 10."

I nod. "Yeah, that sounds good." I lay my head on his lap. "Guess what?"

"What?" He looks down at me.

"I love you!" I smile.

"I love you too, babe."

At some point during the movie, Buddy ended up asleep with his head in my lap. I look at the clock. It's only 8. I decide to let Buddy sleep while I watch reruns of I Love Lucy. We used to watch it together all the time.

September 29th, 1953. Beginning of Junior Year.

I walk over to Juliet's table at lunch. She sits with the cheerleaders and I sit with Buddy and our mutual band friends.

"Buddy is going to come over after school." I tell Juliet.

She continues chewing her peaches and swallows. "Okay, Cara is, too." She glances over to Cara. Cara is an average girl. She has long, straight blonde hair and big blue eyes. She's rather short and skinny, but muscular. She's on the cheer team with Juliet and I. She's one of the flyers. I've seen up her skirt one too many times.

I look over to Cara. "Cool, it'll be fun."

I know Cara has a crush on Buddy and is anything but subtle about it. It's kinda weird, but it doesn't bother me too much.

Cara smiles and blushes. "Okay, uh yeah, cool."

I smirk and turn back to go sit with Buddy.

We all meet over by the band room and make our way to the car. Vincent drives, Juliet is in the front, and Buddy, Cara and I are in the back. I got crammed in the center seat.

Juliet turns to Cara and smiles. "You have to let me do your makeup!"

Cara smiles and nods. "Yes! You did such a good job last time, great eyeliner."

I roll my eyes and cross my feet. I was never the super girly type like Juliet, but I was also never a tomboy. I'm an even mix. I love to do my hair and makeup, but I love to camp. I like to go shopping, but I also like to play basketball. I'm actually pretty good at basketball.

Buddy grabs my hand and looks at me. "Good idea, Juliet. Vi, lemme do your makeup."

I laugh and shake my head. "Nooooo, I'm not letting your clumsy ass near my makeup."

Buddy fakes a sad face. "At least I'm not a candy ass."

I gasp, dramatically let go of this hand, and playfully punch his arm. "Charles Hardin Holley! You do not call your most gracious girlfriend a candy ass!"
