Chapter 10: Bloody Brother And A Perished Waffel

«How on God's green earth does this work?" I hissed to myself, while pushing every button on the coffee machine. I positioned my cup right under where the liquid is supposed to come out of, but nothing happened. I sighted and looked angrily at the monster-machine in front of me.

"I'm so challenged." I muttered and decided to go to the cafe where my friend Adalise works. At least I can get some coffee there. I used to work there with her before Arnold offered me a job.

It's been four days since Orion went crazy and kissed me until I melted against his touch. I've also got information from Adalberto that my house has been taxed and ready to be sold. The remaining of my belongings have been moved to Orion's house.

I guess I am all set.

Though I highly doubt that I'll stay here for much longer. I've barely seen Orion, and I'm starting to think of the possibility that he is ignoring me. Never have I seen a more childish guy than him if he's ignoring me for ripping some papers. I mean, he probably has extra copies somewhere! Everybody does. Sure, I have seen him walking in the door and going up the stairs, pretending that he literally doesn't see me. Life is great.

Although, something rather strange happened last night. There was someone dinging aggressively on the door. And I mean aggressively. It was like a goddamn orchestra in the house. Of course, I didn't see who it was, but I heard a person speaking with Adalberto before Orion came and greeted the person. The visit didn't last long, because suddenly I heard bone-chilling shouting and the door slamming shut. I tried to ask Adalberto, but he refused to tell me anything. I quickly realized that asking Orion was not an option. He had hell imprinted on his face. A look so frightening I could smell the steam burning from him. To say that I was curious was an understatement.

I grabbed my coat and walked to my car. The car looks like dried out grapes compared to his. Oh well.

I got in the car and started driving. After all these days spent in Orion's house I really need to relax and see my friend Adalise. She is an amazing outgoing girl, she's such a child at times and I love it. I've known her for years now and I still make sure to spend time with her and my other friend, Winter. Winter is the wise one, the one you turn to for advice. She is basically Einstein. It's like she holds the answers to everything. Though I rarely ever see her because she is always busy with work. She's an archeologist or whatever.

After a couple of minutes, I saw the small cafe. I parked my car and walked inside. Immediately I smelled strong coffee and delicious smell of various pastries. A couple of people sat at the table talking quietly to each other. The vibe was always very delightful here.

My eyes scanned the room. I saw Adalise's blond silky hair flowing everywhere, complementing her icy blue eyes. She looks up and a big smile spreads across her face, stretching from her very eyes to the corners of her mouth. "Annarose! That is a girl I haven't seen in a looong time. We're taking about decades here, I tell you." She said with her lively voice.

"Hi, Adalise! And please don't exaggerate now." I said smilingly. Two arms wrap around me in a warming embrace. "I know I haven't really been around so much." The guilt suddenly taking over me.

"No, you haven't, but that is certainly about to change!" She gave me a strong look. "Now, what could I serve a beautiful mess like you? The usual? Do you want a coffee perhaps?" She smirked.

"You already know." I replied with a wink. Her tall figure was already working on the coffee and preparing the French waffle.

"You know my shift is soon over, we could sit down and talk if you like? Because girl, I need to know what your ass has been up to lately." She asked, but it sounded rather demanding.
