Hazel
"You're not getting what you want this time, Charles," The real Dr. Baker said, who was among fifteen different look-a-likes. I almost felt like crying with joy when I saw her.
Evansby was clearly shocked to see our rescue group, but he tried to play it off like he was amused. "Ah, Sharon, how lovely of you to join us. I was just taking Hazel and Leo with me to have their mutations removed. I think that's best for us all."
"You're not taking them anywhere, Charles," Dr. Baker snapped. This is the angriest I've ever seen her. "I'm not going to let you kill them. I know you don't care what happens to them, as long as you have all the power. It's time to end this."
Evansby chuckled. "Sharon, you don't understand. I just want to make this world a better place. It makes the most sense if the ruler of everyone has the most power. I can't let 14 year olds be more powerful than me."
"You're a monster!" Maxine exclaimed angrily. She had a pistol in her hands, ready to aim.
"You shouldn't yell at our leader like that, Maxine," Linus emerged from the crowd of mutants from behind Evansby. I immediately clenched my fists when I saw him, and I saw Leo step forward like he was going to attack him. Luckily he stopped himself.
"I can't believe you betrayed us, Linus. Betrayed me," Maxine glared at him. Tears slid down her cheeks and nose. Linus didn't say anything back, though. He didn't seem to care.
Dr. Baker stepped closer to Evansby and said, "Don't make me hurt you, Charles. You don't have to kill people to get what you want."
Evansby stepped closer to Dr. Baker. Dangerously close. "And I don't want to hurt you, Sharon. All I want is to make this world a better place. When people ruin my plans, I get upset." Then he jabbed something into Dr. Baker's arm. Dr. Baker gasped, clutching at the gash in her arm from the knife. She did not back down though. That's when the chaos started.
Dr. Baker's copies each lunged at the enemy mutants. Some of them had guns and shot the enemies with a single shot, while others had no weapons and just used punched and kicked at the mutants until they fell to the ground. Jazz was already clawing at mutants left and right, which was a bloody sight. Sonni had transformed into a tiger and was mauling people. Dana used her invisibility powers to sneak up on people and attack them from behind. Even Maxine became violent by shooting some people.
Leo lunged at Evansby, and began dueling with him. I managed to get Dr. Baker out of harm's way, and ripped off a part of her shirt to wrap around her wound. Then I went for Linus. His attack strategy was to send horrific images of dead people I once knew to my brain, but I was too angry to focus on them. I thrust a force field as easily as flicking something at him, knocking him against a tree.
Linus wasn't done yet. He glared at me and all of a sudden creepy creatures started running at me. I yelped when they scratched their long claws against my suit, cutting my skin. I created a force field around myself to protect me from the creatures. My fear overwhelmed me so much that I screamed and invisible walls of force exploded from me. Once they came in contact with about a dozen of the enemy mutants, they instantly crushed their bodies and killed them. I was surprised at how much power I could release from my body when I was mad.
I continued this process until my body hurt from the force. If I saw a gray-suited mutant, I hurdled an invisible wall at them, which either seriously injured or even killed them. I never thought I would be killing people like this. When Leo saw me releasing my wrath, his eyes widened in surprise. I hoped I would be able to control my anger better in the future, now that I discovered I had very dangerous powers.
