(This chapter is short but don't stress the next few chapters are longer!)It was Sunday evening, I can remember it very clearly. Mom asked me to buy a gallon of milk, I went out to the convenience store, close by my house. I was pretty scared at the time, it was dark and the street lights barely lit the dark neighborhood. It was getting pretty cold, I felt the cool breeze. I sighed, hoping I came back home safe. Mom and dad were always busy working. They always arrived home late, so I usually handled things at home myself. After dinner, I leave the leftovers in the fridge. "I'm so proud of my parents, they're working so hard for me!" I thought, smiled and walked into the store.
I walked in and headed where the cold refrigerators are, to grab a gallon of milk. Then walked over to the cashier. I face the cashier, he seems he's about my age or maybe a year older. "$3.28." The boy said. I gave him my five dollar bill and grabbed the bag to leave. When I was about to leave, he yelled at me. I panicked, I was a bit flustered and thought that he might ask for my number, or compliment me. Instead, he grabbed my hand and put the change in my hand. He laughed, "You forgot your change." He walked back behind the cash register, began laughing like a loon. While I was left embarrassed, thinking he was hitting on me.
