Hey, So a lot of people ship Snilly. I am not one of those people. Here's why: If Snape had truly loved Lilly, he would have helped baby Harry to safety when first walking in the house of the Potters. Here this'll explain it better:

Snape's "love" for Lilly was an obsession. He was obsessed with fitting in and being liked. Lilly was the only person who would be his friend so he was obsessed with her liking him. She liked him as a friend but he took that the wrong way. So when Snape insulted her, Lilly stoped being his friend and he then became obsessed with getting her back. If he had actually loved loved her, he would just let it go and let her be happy and not chase her forever. Now I know that when Voldemort was going to kill Lilly and Snape stood up for her he meant it. That was genuine but it was only because of his obsession. If he was a Deatheater honest to goodness 100% than he would have been at least ok with the plan. He would have wanted to get rid of the pain that was James Potter married to Lilly, the girl he had "loved" and not have to deal with it ever again. (I guess) My point: he didn't truly love Lilly like James did, Snape was obsessed with her.
Idk why that came over me but I just suddenly wanted to tell y'all that so there that is.

Y'all I promise I'm not anti-Snape! I don't despise him, but he was just a jerk to The Golden Trio and NOBODY MESSES WITH THE GOLDEN TRIO AROUND ME. I just don't ship Snily is all. I used to think it was the cutest thing ever but I kinda just like morphed into hating it after seeing some debates about the subject. Jily proved their point better and for me the Snily ship sank. (But also, how could I ship Jily and, while trying to show people my strong opinion of Snily and trying to get them on the Jily ship, not hate on Snape a little in the process? And don't we all sorta hate him? Yeah he did some nice things but.... bad has overweighted the good in this situation.) So, have I convinced you to get off the S.S. Snily? Or were you already on S.S. Jily? Or have you not been convinced? Comment & tell me!
