Nick hugged his mother, the old and gentle fox in his arms barely reaching his height anymore. He'd grown taller than her when he was only fifteen years old.
"I can't wait for you to meet Judy..I know you'll love her." he said happily.
"It's nearly time you bring her by." she smiled.
"I'll go get her now, I'm sure she's just out on patrol somewhere. She barely rests."
"I'll be here waiting for you both..Love you, Nicholas."
"Love you too, mom." smiled the fox, before he quickly left through the door in their small apartment in the Rain forest District. He was so excited..His mother had been more open to the idea of meeting Judy than he had thought. He knew his mother was accepting, and didn't want to judge Judy before she met her. But he still had his doubts.
Nick wore his usual outfit, his green shirt and tie, and his brown pants. His fur, glossy and fluffy, just the way he enjoyed it. If Nick knew Judy's schedule, she'd probably be near Tundra Town during this time of the day, considering Tundra Town was warmest during the evening, for some weird reason. The rabbit never did enjoy the cold weather. He strolled down the road that led to a bridge going over a waterfall, passing by some animals on the street. Suddenly, before the fox could take another step, a kangaroo on the other side of the street screamed, staring at her phone.
Nick, being an officer, quickly ran to her.
"What seems to be the problem?" he asked, nearly out of breath. The kangaroo showed him her phone, the panic in her voice clear.
"A savage animal has been reported in Tundra Town!" she shouted. Nick's ears lowered at the reply. No..Certainly not..They had solved the case..They had put that dirty sheep behind bars..Everyone knew that predators weren't attacking animals on purpose..Nick's heart sank, and he realized that it wasn't over..And that more distrust was coming his way..Predators were going to be looked upon with anger again..
"It's a rabbit!" shouted a zebra walking nearby. Nick's ears perked straight up. A rabbit? A savage rabbit? How was that even possible? Nick didn't care. He had a bad feeling about this, so he quickly ran for the quickest train to Tundra Town. He tried calling Judy on her cell, but she never answered.
On the train ride, a tiger and a rhino sat nearby, looking at their phones.
"I can't believe it," one of them said , "An actual rabbit has started attacking animals, just like a few months ago when predators were attacking.."
"I know, and..you know, that rabbit..gray..purple eyes..Black tips on the ears..It looks like it has a giant slash on the side of its face, still bleeding. Maybe it attacked itself? Or maybe someone was trying to fight it off. Who would of known, a prey animal turning savage.." said the tiger. Nick's heart sank even lower. Black tips on the ears? Purple eyes? Grey fur? There was only one rabbit he knew that could be..
Nick arrived in Tundra Town only a few minutes later, racing off the train as fast as possible, attempting to reach the middle of town, where everyone was saying the savage rabbit was located at the moment. How much trouble could a bunny cause? Nick turned the corner of the middle of town, and gasped. Five police cars were surrounding a building, and a cheetah came out, scratch marks all over his face. Clawhauser. Nick sprinted over to him, a worried look on his face.
"Clawhauser? What happened to you?" he asked. The cheetah wiped a tear from his eye, blood dripping from his face.
