Nick listened at the comments being made around the hospital as Judy was being cured inside one of the main rooms.  The rabbit had almost awoken on the ambulance ride over, and the medical workers had to calm her down using more sedatives, trying to prevent her from savagely attacking anyone in the vehicle.  The fox sat in a chair that was located outside Judy's room, and it had been nearly two hours since the incident.  He hadn't heard a word from the nurses, but he had been catching little bits and pieces of conversation from other animals passing by.  A certain one remained in his mind, though he heard it over a half hour ago.  It came from a lion, a female lioness, who was working the counter near the front desk.  She had smiled rudely and rolled her eyes.

"Just like prey to do this sort of thing..Go on saying that all predators are bad yet turn around and do bad things themselves." She had spat.  Nick disliked the lioness for the comment she made, for it was absolutely unnecessary.   Even Nick, being a predator himself, didn't think that of the prey.  In fact, in a way he understood them.  Animals were being attacked left and right when Dawn was darting predators with the Night Howler Serum, how was any animal supposed to know when any predator passing by could suddenly attack?  And when the prey found out that the predators were being framed, many of them actually apologized for being afraid, and let their predator friends know they never hated them.  Nick remembered when McHorn and the hippo officer bought Clawhauser two packages of donuts in apology for moving him down to the boiler room office because they were worried animals would be upset seeing a predator face as soon as they walked in.  Yet, Nick couldn't agree with the lioness.  The fox knew Judy, any prey animals or predators never did this on purpose.  No, someone was behind this, and he was going to find out who it was.  This was the work of Night Howlers.

Finally, after another half hour of waiting, a small meerkat nurse strolled out of the large door, turning to Nick.

"Mr. Wilde, Judy is waking up from the treatment.  She's going to be a little woozy, and probably in a bit of pain." she spoke quietly. Nick got up happily and smiled.

"So she's going to be alright?" he asked the small mammal.

She nodded, her little tail moving back and forth across the hospital floor.

"Yes Sir, your friend is going to be fine.  She's a bit shaken up, and we've put her in our hospital gown.  She might need to stay a few more hours, but overall she could possibly go home.  Now, there's something about her turning..savage.."

"I know it was the Night Howlers." stated Nick.  He had no doubt at all.  He wasn't going to be fooled.

"Yes, it was night howlers.  But the way that she received the drug..Apparently, she digested the night howler."

"You mean, she ATE it?" he asked, surprised.

"We believe so, but we've no idea how.  We're sure Judy has enough sense to not eat a Night Howler.  We also have no idea as to where she could of attained a night howler pellet, considering they are illegal almost everywhere, and you can't by them in any stores.  Someone out there must still be making them.  The only Night Howlers allowed anywhere are Night Howler flowers, which are often kept on farms to keep insects off of produce.  Otherwise, they are extremely illegal.  I don't understand, but she is waking up, so perhaps you should ask her yourself.  Also, I figured I would hand this to you." She stated, pulling out a plastic bag.  The small mammal handed the bag to the fox, and he looked inside, revealing Judy's torn police uniform.  He knew this one was her favorite, and would probably be upset when she found it it had been torn to shreds during her..situation.

"Well, she seems to be awake.  You may visit her now.  We've banded up her claw marks and cleaned the blood from her fur, so she should be clean.  Have a nice day Mr. Wilde." she said, before turning her back and walking down the hospital hallway to treat more patients.
