THE NEXT DAY, Henry walked into the Great Hall, obviously glum about Spencer and Wren talking about all the new things in Zonko's and Honeyduke's. He slumped down into his seat across from Spencer, next to Wren.
"You alright?" Spencer asked as he ate his breakfast. Henry narrowed his eyes at Spencer, hoping that he'd get the message. He just looked between Henry and Wren, visibly confused.
"I think that's a no, Spence." Wren said to Spencer. Henry only rolled his eyes as he started eating. After a few minutes, Wren said something about how she loved Divination which resulted in Spencer calling Trelawney a loon. That led to a heated arguement between the two, Merlin did it irritate Henry when they argued, it's all they did.
"Can I, uh, talk to you for a second?" Harry asked, tapping Henry's shoulder.
"If it will get me away from them, yes." Henry said, standing and following Harry out of the Great Hall, leaving Spencer and Wren to keep yelling back and forth; they had the Ravenclaw table, next to Gryffindor, staring at them. The rest of the Gryffindor students didn't care, they're too far used to the constant fighting.
They were in the quiet corridor when Harry finally turned around to face his brother. Henry thought that Harry couldn't remember what he was going to say, but Harry was just trying to find the right words.
"How do I put this..." Harry mumbled as he stared down at the ground.
"Harry?" Henry asked, trying to regain his brother's attention. Harry's head snapped up, he was obviously still trying to figure out how to say what he wanted to say.
"Y-You know Sirius Black, right?" Harry asked.
"Stupid question, of course I do. Don't tell your actually that thick." Henry said.
"No, its just, uh, there's a reason he's trying to, er, kill us."
"And the reason is...?"
"H-He was one of Mum and Dad's best friends, but he was the one that sold out our parents to Voldemort. He was the secret keeper." Harry said, Henry's heart dropped. He didn't know what to think.
"He was their friend? And he betrayed them?" Henry asked, and Harry nodded slowly. Henry felt cold, not because of the weather, his blood was cold. Henry walked past Harry, leaving him in the middle of the corridor, up to Gryffindor common room, hoping he wouldn't run into anyone.
Unfortunately for him, George was leaving the common room just as he was about to enter, "Hey, Hen," That was George's nickname for him, he was the only one in the world that called him that. Henry only replied with a small wave, not meeting his eyes. "Are you okay?" He asked.
Henry turned to face him, "Y-Yeah, I just want to be alone right now, that's all."
"Okay." George responded, unconvinced, but before he could say anything else, Henry had already gone into the common room without another word.
George tried to shrug the short conversation off, but it stuck in his head like a magnet. He was pulled out of his thought by Fred who came walking up to him, just as he was about to enter the Great Hall.
"Where've you been?" He asked.
"I was talking with Henry, but something seemed really off about him." George replied as he and Fred walked over to the Gryffindor table.
"Have either of you seen Henry?" Wren asked the twins.
"He disappeared right after he went and talked with Harry." Spencer said walking up beside her.
"I just talked to him, he seemed a bit off. He's in the common room, but he said he wants to be alone. He's probably in his dormitory." George said.
"Well, I mean its my dorm, too. I'm gonna go find out whats wrong with him." Spencer said, jogging out of the Great Hall.
"You idiot!" Wren yelled, following him, "He said he wanted to be alone!"
"Do they ever stop bickering?" Alicia asked as the twins sat down next to her, Angelina, and Oliver.
"They've been fighting since they met. I don't understand how they're still friends." Oliver said.
"Henry." Alicia said, "Without him, there's no way they'd be friends." she finished.
"That's true. Whenever he's around, the arguing dims a lot." Angelina said.
Meanwhile, in Gryffindor common room, Henry sat slumped in the couch, watching the dying fire. He bit his bottom lip to keep from letting a sob escape. Everything was calm until Wren and Spencer came bustling in. Wren had her fist holding on to Spencer's hood of his robes as he fought his way into the common room.
"Henry." Wren said, "What happened? George said you seemed a little off."
"Did he also tell you I wanted to be alone?" Henry snapped. Wren narrowed her eyes at Spencer, whereas his widened.
"Uh, we thought-" Wren elbowed him, "I thought that you might, er, wanna talk 'bout it?" Spencer asked.
"I don't wanna talk about it, I- I don't know." Henry replied softly, his face was red, and his eyes were a little puffy; Wren and Spencer shared a knowing look and went and sat on either side of him and put their arm around him.
"It's okay, Henry." Wren said softly. Henry let out a deep breath, and finally let out the tears he wanted to so badly. He told them what Harry had told him, which only made it harder saying it, more hearing it, a second time.
