"I guess it has nothing to do with the soda cans?" I told Owen while I was keeping the muffins tight in a container box.
"Why can't this cooler break in close? It's razing hot out here!" Owen complained, now banging the cooler like how wreck it Ralph would do.
Today is finally the start of our retreat camp. It's a usual tradition of our school where each one of us seniors would look forward to the most before graduation. It's just a get together camp held in a resort for us colleagues to get along before we separate ways and never see each other's being forever.
"How's the packing going you two peas in a pod?" Mrs. kings teasingly sang while pampering Popsie and her pups with a diamond leash.
"Perfect mom." Owen banged his head in frustration.
Our parents knew what was going on in our relationship and gave out some new rules for us to strictly take note. No more sleeping in one bed, no more hanging out past midnight, and the list goes on but other than that, they agreed pretty well, I guess.
"We have to get going! It's an hour ride and were L-A-T-E again." I spelled out worriedly.
He rushed to the driver's seat and poked his head out. "Hop in." He smirked with summer shades on that suits him like an Abercrombie model.
"What?" I reckoned, brainwashed at the sight.
"Let me get you guys a snapshot, com'n lovebirds!" Mrs. Kings pleaded.
"Mom....." Owen whined but got off the car loke a bolt and swept me off my feet, carrying me in his arms. "Get a picture, quick." He ordered his mom who was now shocked in amusement.
"How I longed for this!" she squealed, taking multiple shots.
"Get me down." I whispered to his right ear.
Two hours has passed and we arrived last amongst all our batch. That was because Owen had to stop by multiple shops that caught his short-span attention but so what? They won't give us tardy stamps anymore.
The resort met my expectations. A pool bar, a little carnival at the next stop, and hotel rooms booked beforehand that separates both genders.
"My house seems better don't you think?" Owen questioned next to me as he eyed the place.
"Pride control." I patted his back.
I had to share rooms with two other people but because the seniors brought up their rebellious side and planned everything well all along, everyone were switching rooms and we were mixed up.
"It's our first and maybe, last get together. Spice things up a bit and enjoy!" Our home room teacher rocked out and jumped in the refreshing pool.
"Awesome, this was prof. Pete's idea?" Someone unbelievably said.
"So what room will I be staying?" I tugged on Owen's shirt like a lost puppy.
"Mine" He placed his flexed arms around my shoulder, pulling me close to him. Eyes were googling at us and I didn't care anymore.
"And mine." Justin butt in.
"Hey bruh." Owen faced him irritably. "Back off."
"There aren't any rooms left. And the rule says three." Justin shrugged.
"Who the hell follows rules here. Prof. Pete ain't even in his right mind."
"But I am." He carried on with his things and headed first with the key.
"Sam, remember what I told you. Don't even lay an eye at him."
"What's the big deal?"
"I don't want competition and if there's one right thing that my mind could formulate, that ass want to bring it on."
