"Good morning, class. Here is your warm up for today. I want you guys to write one paragraph about what I should know about you for this year. Since it's the 2nd day of school, I would like to get to know all of you a little better. So, write at least 5 sentences while I take roll really quick. Okay? Now get started."

Y/n's paragraph:
Hi, my name is y/n. I'm 10 years old. I have just began 5th grade and I'm a little scared about it. I don't really have any friends to hang out with at the moment and I'm kind of lonely. My birthday is on...

My writing was interrupted by a screeching sound coming from the classroom door. Someone walks in. It was boy who looked about my age. He had dirty blond hair that flopped over his head kinda like a mop.

While everyone in the class was staring, the boy walked over to the teacher's desk with a schedule in hand. He was telling the teacher that he was new to the school and that it's his first day there.

"Class, we have a new student today. This is...I'm sorry what was it again?" Asked the teacher.

"It's Logan," he answered awkwardly.

The teacher then looks around the classroom, freezing her eyes towards the empty seat right next to mine. She then points towards it.

"You can sit over there," The teacher instructs him.

The mop headed boy came towards the seat that he was assigned to and sat down in it.

"Hey," said the mop head.

"Hello," I said.

"What your name?"

"Y/n."

"I'm Logan, nice to meet you," he said, holding out his hand, gesturing for me to shake it.

"You too," I said as I accepted his hand shake.

"What are we supposed to be doing right now?" Logan asked with a confused look on his face.

"We have to write a 5 sentence paragraph about what she should know about us. I mean I don't know why she wants to know us, we don't want to know her."

"Ha ha, that's frilly," Logan says, soon after realizing what he said.

"Frilly?" I asked trying not to chuckle at his comment.

"See I was thinking about saying 'freaking silly' but it came out as frilly ah ha ha." He says in embarrassment. At this point I'm on the cusp of laughing out loud.

At an attempt to stay quiet, I put my face inside my shirt. Logan thought it was hilarious and he started to laugh extremely loud, which made both of us die of laughter. The teacher eventually heard us and rained all over our parade.

"Logan and y/n, do you want to stay in during recess and write sentences?" Scolds the teacher.

"No no no I'm sorry we'll be quiet." Logan answers, still on the verge of laughing.

Logan looks at me, and I can tell he's still trying to hold in his laughter. I knew he was gonna blow up any second now. So I covered his mouth with my hand to ensure he wouldn't get us into trouble.

"Shh," I told Logan quietly. He nodded and then I let him go.

Eventually, Logan and I calmed down from laughing so hard. The class bell rang, indicating that it was time for morning recess.

"Do you want to play on the swings with me?" Asked Logan. I was surprised when he asked me that. I never really had a friend before, let alone someone to hang out with.

"Okay sure." I said, trying to hold back my excitement.

We ran over to the swings so the other kids wouldn't get them before us. We had a swinging contest to see who would swing the highest. It was so much fun. Recess flew by in a flash and the bell rang again. Logan and I jump off the swings and start walking back towards our class.

"Hey can I ask you something?" Logan pauses us from walking.

"Sure wassup?" I answered back.

"I wanted to know if you wanna to be best friends?"

"Yeah of course, Logan!" I shouted, giving him and big hug.

I suddenly realized in that moment, I was no longer friendless. I had figured out that Logan and I had so much in common. We both love the same kind of music, the same kind of foods, and we're also neighbors. I couldn't be more happy to have Logan as my best friend. I know we're gonna be best friends forever. Nothing at all can ruin this friendship.
