Chapter 23 - The plan

'Let's search for a quite place to spend the night, hmm!'

A week after the incident with the anbu, Pein sent us to an other mission. We have done it by now, but decided to go back at daylight, after spending the night in a cave. As we went to sleep I felt something strange with my head.

'Dei-kun! You can feel it too?' I turned to him.

'Yes, hmm. It's Pein-sama.'

Leader-sama gathered everybody for a meeting. We met through hologramm.

'An important thing I want to tell you is that we lost two members.'

'Two members? What do you mean by we lost them?' I was suprised.

'Hidan and Kakuzu were killed by a group of Leaf ninjas.'

'What?? The immortal pair died??' Kisame asked.

'More or less. Kakuzu was killed by the Kyubi boy and was carried to Konoha. Hidan is still alive, but in pieces under a mass amount of dust. He was burried by Shikamaru from the Nara clan.'

I can't belive what I heared.

'I also have another thing to tell you.' Everybody looked at him. 'Sasuke gained Orochimaru and formed a group called Hebi.' Everybody was thinking on Pein-sama's words, only I sat confused.

'Can someone explain what does this mean? I can't understand a word from this!' I said. Itachi spoke up:

'Sasuke is my younger brother and he was with Orochimaru to gain more power. Otherwise, Orochimaru was an akatsuki member who had left the organisation a long time ago. Now Sasuke defeated him.'

'All right, but what should we do with this? Why is it important for us?' I asked. The answer came from Kisame:

'Sasuke's target is Itachi-san. He wants revenge for the clan.'

'I can see now.' I looked down and nodded. 'And what's the plan?'

'We will collect the remaining tailed beasts. Deidara, you will meet up with Tobi and collect the three tails with him.' Pein said to Dei-kun then turned to me. 'For you Fujiko, the mission is to gather informations. Itachi, Kisame, you will stay here. Zetsu, your mission is the same as before.'
