Emily's P.O.V

"Good bye Brent." I said as I walked out the door.

"Bye Em. I'll miss you." He responded. I walked out of the Brew and headed to school. A few seconds later, my phone buzzed. The text read: "Hey Em, are you with Spence?" It was from Aria.

I texted back: "No, I just left the Brew. I'm headed to school but I'm going to take it through big-ops alley."

That was weird. Spencer is never late to school. She has a perfect attendance and a "No Tardiness Diploma." There was nothing I could do about it because I was already late. I kept walking until I saw the big flashing sign that said "Welcome to Big-Ops Alley". I began walking and thinking of how great Brent is. He always surprises me and teaches me so many things. I don't even know how I was ever in love with Paige. She's a girl. I had to break up with her and I found Brent. I could hear the leaves crunching under my feet in the peaceful alley. "Help me! Help please!" I heard someone scream from the smallest room in the whole alley.

"Ok ok! Where are you?!" I yelled back.

"In the room!" They screamed.

"Ok I'm coming!!" I yelled.

I jumped on two boxes to get to the ladder leading the door of the room. I opened the door and looked down.

"Hey, one sec!" I yelled grabbing the ladder from the other side.

"Here!" I yelled. As the person came up, I could see that it was Spencer.

"Spencer!! What were you doing down there?!" I screamed.

"Emily I was so scared, I, I , was about to kill myself," She said crying and unable to finish her sentences. "I felt like someone was suffocating me." She said weeping.

"It's ok, I'm here now. Let's get to school." I said with fear in my eyes.

As we got down to go to school, we got a message from A. It read: Good friends aren't always gonna be there.

Spencer looked at me.

"Guess this was just a one time thing, huh?" She said.

"Spencer, listen to me. I will always be there for you." I replied.

"Yeah, well don't make promises you can't keep." She said strongly.

"Spencer are you gonna seriously believe A? I can't even believe you right now." I told her.

"No, but prove me wrong." She spoke.

"I just did." I turned around and began to walk.

"Fine. Tell the girls I won't be in school today." She said.

"I will, I'm glad you're not going to be there." I spoke.

"Really, because who told me a few days ago and was happy I will always be there, it wasn't Toby?" She said.

"I gotta go." I told her.

"Emily, you know is true." She said.

I stopped walking. I waited for two seconds and kept walking again. I can't believe Spencer said that. I saved her and that's how she treats me? Wow.

When I finally got to school, I told the girls that Spencer wasn't

coming.

"Why?" Aria asked.

"I don't know. " I replied. I didn't want them to know what had happened.

"Well I hope she's fine." Hanna said.

"Yeah, me too. Aria whispered.

We waited for about a minute in silence.

"I gotta go now. I have to get to the uh, umm," I stuttered as someone put their hand on my shoulder.

"Swim locker room."  It said.

I turned around. It was Spencer.

"Spencer!" The girls yelled.

"What happened, you showed up late today." Hanna questioned.

"It was A." Spencer said as her head pointed to the ground.

"I thought I saw red coat so I followed it to the alley. Red coat trapped me in Old St. Mills' room.

"No way!" They yelled.

"That room has like, zero exits once the door closes." Aria said.

"Listen Emily, I left my MP3 player in your locker.

"You don't own an MP3 player, Spencer." Hanna said.

"I just bought o-" She was cut off.

"If you just bought one, then why is it in Emily's locker?" Hanna questioned.

"Well I did and I need to go get it. Emily, please come on."

I wondered why she wanted me. She's the one who treated me with disrespect.
