Chapter 12

Ok so here I am, home alone again. Lydia is hanging out with Jackson, Allison is probably doing something with with Scott since neither of them are answering their phones, and Stiles said he had to do something with his dad.

I started to walk down to the movie store considering that I don't have a car.

It took me about fifteen minutes before I reached the movie store. I walked inside and started to look around for the movie The Great Gatsby. It was one of my favorite movies after The Notebook of course.

I finally found it when I heard a familiar voice yell out, "Hey can somebody help me find The Notebook!"

I turned the corner and saw Jackson scamming the isles for obviously The Notebook. I'm not the only girl who loves that movie. Lydia loves it too.

"Jackson?" I said walking towards him.

He looked up at me. "Hey Kylie. What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing."

"Lydia wants to watch The Notebook again." he sighed. "What 'bout you?"

I held up my hand that was holding The Great Gatsby. "I watched The Notebook not that long ago with Stiles so I decided to get something different."

"Right with your boyfriend." he laughed.

"Shut up." I said hitting his shoulder.

"I'm sorry I just never pictured you with him." he said in between laughs.

"Well I never pictured Lydia with a tool like you." and with that I turned around and started to walk away.

"Hey I'm sorry, ok?" he said jogging to catch up with me.

"Whatever you say Jackson."

"Do you know where whoever's working here is?" he asked in an annoyed tone.

I froze just as we were about to walk past an isle.

"Jackson..." I started, my voice trembling. "I do now."

He looked where I was looking, seeing the store clerk lying on the floor with his throat ripped out.

I started walking backwards but then I felt something hard against my back and then Jackson grabbing my arm and pulling me his way.

I turned around and saw a ladder, that was holding up one of the lights, fall.

I heard something growling behind me, so I turned around only to see the large monster that had attacked Scott, right behind me.

I looked over at Jackson who saw the monster too. He looked absolutely terrified.

"Come on." Jackson said pulling me behind one of the selves full of movies.

We squatted down behind the movie shelf, breathing heavily.

"Jackson what are we going to do?" I whispered to him timidly.

"Shh. We're going to be ok." He whispered back.

I shook my head and then turned it to glance around the corner to see if the alpha was still there. Jackson did the same thing.

The alpha wasn't standing where it was before, but then all the sudden it ran past one of the shelves behind us. Jackson and I jumped back, leaning our backs against the shelf.

Movies started to fall off the shelf, then before I knew it Jackson pushed me out of the way just before the shelf came tumbling down on him.

"Jackson!" I crawled towards him trying to pull him from underneath the shelf.
