'Aren't you excited?' Marlene squealed. 'Sweet Seventeen is on its way.'

'Just two more minutes.' Mary said checking the time.

'Just one more minute.' Mary said.

'Seventeen is the ultimate year of bliss.' Dorcas said.
'Whatever illegal things we do suddenly turn legal.' Marlene pointed.

'Okay, thirty seconds.'
'Stop the countdown.' Lily said.

'Okay, twenty.'

'I am going to sleep.' Lily said, irritated.
'Oh, shut up.' Marlene said.

'Twelve.. Eleven..' Mary said, but stopped when there was a big explosion from the common room below.

The girls went out and down the stairs to step into the common room.

In the centre there were sparks floating around with numbers.

The number five burst in sparks to reveal four and then three.
'Aww, you guys. Did you do this?' Lily asked, surprised with a bright smile.

'Um we would like to say yes but we have no idea what's going on

The number one dissapeared in sparks in the ceiling and the words "Happy Birthday, Evans" spread.

'Oh no.' Lily groaned.
The words dissapeared and change to something else.
"I hope this year is the best you ever have and I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me. My love for you will never waver, whatever happens."

'Aw' said Dorcas.
'He never learns.' Said Lily.

From all around the room, the words 'Happy Birthday, Evans.' showed a million times.
Decorations began showing and multicoloured lights spread the room.

'I am sick of this. I heading back to the dorms.' Lily said.

'What do you think she thought of that?' James asked, peeping to see Lily's reaction.

'James, isn't there a more subtle approach you could have taken?' Remus asked.
'Yeah, it's a bit much.' Peter agreed.
