Chapter 19

"Ari?"

"Sam.." I croak out.

"Ari! Why is the door locked?" he shouts and I hear the door handle jiggling.

"Ariana! Unlock the door!"

It takes all my strength to reach up to the door handle and unlock it. Suddenly, the door swings open and hits my feet. Sam obviously didn't know I was sitting behind the door. I hear Sam gasp and crouch in front of me.

My vision is blurry and I feel dizzy.

"Oh my God Ariana! What did you do?" he shouts, I can tell he's angry and scared.

"I'm.." I can slowly feel myself blacking out, "..I'm..sorry.."

"Oh my God. Oh my God." I hear Sam mumbling to himself.

I feel arms under my legs as I'm lifted up off the floor.

"Oh God. Oh God."

"S...Sam.."

"What Ariana? What?" he sounds scared, as I hear him open a door. But, I'm too weak to reply. Then, Sam begins shouting.

"Help! Help!"

I hear a door swing open and hear feet running towards us.

"Oh my God, what happened to her?" the voice sounds familiar, it's a girl. But I can't place a face on the name.

"She-she cut herself, and I think she went too deep!" Sam says shakily.

Sam picks up the pace, running down the hallway. I still hear the soft footsteps of the girl running next to us. I hear more doors swing open, and small chatter as we reach what I assume is the elevator.

"Call an ambulance." Sam says.

"Okay." the girl replies. Is it Tasia? It didn't sound like her.

My eyes are barely open and my vision is still blurry. I also have a pounding headache.

"Ariana, just hold on. We're getting you an ambulance. You're gonna make it. I promise." Sam's voice cracks. But am I really going to make it? He was right, why did I do this? I was just mad. I didn't want to hurt anyone. I thought I'd only be hurting myself.

"Oh, shit, I think she's about to black out." I hear Sam say.

"Did you call the ambulance?"

"Yeah! They're gonna be here any minute."

I feel my body touch the ground.

"Come on, Ariana. Stay with me." Sam says and I feel him pat my face.

"Say something Ari."

"Ari? Why did you do this?" I can tell Sam is starting to tear up.

Should I tell him? What if he hurts Chandler? I don't want anyone else to get hurt.

"Ch.."

"What?"

Suddenly, I hear people rushing in and around me.

"Here, put her body on this."

"Everyone out of the way!"

"Hurry! Get her to the ambulance!"

I feel my body lifted onto something soft. I still hear people talking around me.

"Let's get her some oxygen!" I hear a female voice shout.

I feel a mask put around my head, and someone presses something soft on my arm, but the pain makes me flinch.

The voices around me slowly get blurry as I slowly close my eyes. Maybe, this was meant to happen.
