Megan flew back to San Fran immediately after her unsuccessful meeting with her father, feeling bone tired and weary. But she was too riled to sleep during the flight. She paced the entire time even when the fasten seat belt sign was on. I know what a rebel right? The attendant guessing her mood said nothing.

Thoughts rolled around in her head crashing together and coalescing into a pattern she didn't want to admit. She was in a committed relationship with zero real communication. Cam hadn't told her about his fear of rejecting his skin, and obviously he must have been frightened out of his mind about it to make such a stupid decision as going to a freaking death worm.

Megan growled out loud she was spiraling again. Her anger was a volcano getting ready to explode, but how could she blame him for keeping things from her? She hadn't exactly shared her feelings of guilt over her mother's death and her abandonment issues with him. Hell their entire magical existence was made up of secrets and lies. From the moment they become enlightened they're guilty of withholding and deceiving every single unenlightened person, but they're supposed be open and honest with their enlightened friends and partners, weren't they?

Wow! What a screwed up world she lived in. It was filled with moral ambiguity and such uncertainty that anyone of them could become a victim of a nefarious creature, because it's better than the alternative. The council had constructed their playground and they were told they had to play within it -- all because they had the misfortune of having a foot in both worlds.

Megan's anger began to cool. She no longer felt like she wanted to rip Cam a new one. Now wasn't the time to lose it with him. Now was the time to find solutions, but how? She'd exhausted her one shot at helping. Her anger began to boil again, so she shut out all thoughts of her father. He's dead to you now, remember, she told herself.

She had to tell the gang. Maybe together they could come up with a solution. There was only one remaining person who carried and could operate a cell phone successfully and that was Xander. Lauren had been able to last year, but since then with all her heightened emotions about her brother well let's just say not so much anymore. Her cell had gone up like a Samsung Note 7 in the cafeteria one day.

So Megan debated leaving a voice mail from the phone on the plane but changed her mind and asked the attendant to text him instead.

She got the attendant to text:

Hey Xander can you let the gang know I'm back? We need to meet at Lauren's after training. We've got a lot to discuss.

The attendant showed her his reply.

Yah dweeb c u there.

Great Megan thought he's never going to let go of the dweeb thing. Serves her right for showing him it bothered her. He's the kind of guy who loves to tease.

The wind left Meg's sails and she flopped in the comfortable leather lounge chair and finally closed her eyes. The next thing she knew the blonde attendant was waking her with a gentle nudge on her shoulder. She quickly wiped her chin with her sleeve. Great she could add drooling to her list of things she does when she's really tired.

At the last minute she decided to go home to shower and change her clothes. She knew she felt crazed but she didn't need to look it, but when she let herself into the condo her step-monster was sitting on the very edge of one of the uncomfortable couches looking pissed as usual.
