Joanne's POV
It's a warm, wet Friday after that rainy Thursday. I'm done with two Friday classes and I'm at the main lounge, chilling and waiting for my friends to show up. It's hard to believe this, but I'm actually in Harvard right now. It still feels like a dream, even if I'm already in spring semester. I have passed the first semester and I'm so excited to complete my first year at Harvard soon. I'm so honored and thrilled to be in this amazing college - I mean, who doesn't ever dreamt of being a student in here?!I'm popular here, I have new friends who are popular as well and I have a new boyfriend who's handsome and brave. He understood my past and he really cares about me. Stayner Jose Brito...that's such a hot name. He's tall with long curly brown hair, brown eyes and a big smile. He's a sporty person and he likes anime but he also loves romantic movies as well. He's a son of a wealthy oil owner and he's in here for a bachelor of business. He's already a sophomore here but I don't care and neither does he.
Besides all the happy things going on, there's still some dark times. Sometimes I get nightmares since the day Maggie Thornton...died. I'd always see her in different dreams once in a while - one time I got a nightmare where I was marrying Eric and the priest was saying some stuff from the Bible when his voice changed from a soft, bold voice to a raspy, deep and scratchy voice. I turned to the priest and found myself staring at Maggie holding the Bible, who chuckles loudly before killing me. And the other time was when I dreamt of being with my friends and Eric at a beach and a hot lifeguard walked over to us to ask us if we need extra beach umbrellas, and when I looked up all I saw was Maggie and she stabbed me with the beach umbrella she was holding.
Now I don't need to be afraid anymore, since Maggie is stuck back in Martha's Vineyard and she can't get off the island without a ferry ticket. I'm sure that the police will catch her soon. Sometimes, I feel like someone is watching me, but I know it's just my imagination. I don't need to be afraid of living - Maggie is long gone and I don't have to look over my shoulder every time to make sure she's not there.
I feel a lot happier now right here. I feel safe.
"Joanne!" someone shouts my name. I look up and spot Hannah , walking towards me. She's a short lady who's full of sass and attitude and she's very smart, too. Bouncy, short brown hair with brown eyes, wearing a pair of Michael Kors glasses. Following her are Chloe Salony, Marie Shepard and Tricia Delph. Chloe is short like Hannah and she's often mistaken for a 15 year old girl, but she's really 18. She has long, light brown hair with brown eyes and a small mouth, but she's smart and she knows how to lie her way out of trouble.
Marie is a skilled ballerina and she's pretty as hell, with long brown-blond hair, blue eyes and a bit of freckled skin. Tricia is a bit chubby but she's pretty too - long brown hair, brown eyes and freckles across her face like stars. They've been dating since high school and they wanted to get married when they're done with college.
"What's the plan, girls?" I ask them as I put my phone into my pocket. Chloe says, "We're planning to go to the mall for some shopping time."
"Copley Place? That's the one where we're going?" I ask. I have heard of that place but I haven't been there since I touched here because I was busy with the first semester. Hannah nods, "Yep, that's the one."
"Alright, let's go then." I get up as I grab my Chanel crossbody purse and we all walk to the bus stop where our school bus come to drive on campus and off campus to the shopping centers, fun places and restaurants.
A few moments later we're at Copley Place, and inside the mall, Hannah and I'm in Jimmy Choo looking around while Chloe is at Lucky Brand, looking for some new jeans. Marie and Tricia are in Chanel the floor above us, looking at the handbags, shoes and dresses. Hannah is looking at the bags while I search through the heels, looking for the one that calls my name.
