We zoomed over the country so fast you could hear the wind whistle. "Okay. I have a million questions. But first: where the heck are we going? You said we were going to a safe place. What do you mean by that? And who sent you to get me? And what about my dad?" I could've gone on and on until Asher stopped me.

"Woah. Slow down. I had some of the same questions when I found out."

"Found out what? Does it have to do with that demigod thing you said? Those Cyclopes said I had Olympian scent."

"Yeah. You're a demigod: a child of a mortal and a god. It's a lot to process, but you get used to it. For you, I heard, your dad is mortal. That makes your mom a god." Asher said.

"That doesn't make sense. I never knew my mom." Again, I don't usually make a it deal about it, but the way I said it, it sounded like longing. Maybe it was the fact that I might finally know who my mom is. But seriously, my mom, a Greek god? That was almost as bonkers as anything I've ever heard in my life.

He sighed, as if he's had this conversation many times before. "See, when a god has an affair with a mortal and they have a child together, they're a demigod, half god, half mortal. When the child is born, most gods leave, because they have other godly things to do. As for where I'm taking you, it's a place for special kids like us."

That annoyed me. "Great. As if I can't be any more special than I already am." My dad would always say that I'm a special kid, but I never thought of it in a good way. Since I had dyslexia and ADHD, I thought that was just his way of saying I have mental and health issues.

"Our camp director, Chiron, sent me. We ran out of satyrs--"

"What? Satyrs? Those donkey people?" My dad told me about satyrs when I was little. The idea of men having furry legs and hooves was very funny to me.

"First of all, they're goats. Second of all, the satyrs that work at our camp are on some nature mission, so Chiron asked me to pick one of them up: you."

"Who's Chiron?" I asked

"Camp activities director. You'll see him when we get to camp."

"What's this camp called? And it's winter. I thought camps are only open during the summer."

"This one's open year-round. And it's called Camp Half Blood. It's a special camp for more children of the gods. And, ah look. Here we are" Asher announced as we passed over what he said to be Camp Half Blood.
