Chapter 9

Hours after Discord had found Celestia and brought her back to the castle, he and Luna were anxiously waiting in the royal hospital for news on Celestia. When Discord had got her to the castle she was immediately taken away to try to be brought back from deaths door and Luna informed. The usually hyperactive alicorn was quietly sat next to Discord, her eyes red and puffy from crying so much. In an attempt to calm the young, scared alicorn Discord hugged Luna and whispered that Celestia will be fine soon. Partly the reason for him to say that was to try to calm his own fear and guilt. They sat like that for a further hour when a nurse entered the waiting room and ushered the two forwards. The nurse lead them to a private room and let them in, the room was white with the only colour coming from a vase of flowers on the bedside table. In the bed Celestia was sound asleep looking almost healthy but the extreme paleness to her skin and the weak flow of her mane showed otherwise. Sat on a chair near the bed was a doctor, scribbling various notes on a clip board he levitated with his horn. Noticing the visitors the doctor got up and allowed Luna to come over. Not needing to be asked twice, Luna rushed forward and gently hugged her older sister, the tears once again rolling down her cheeks. The doctor gestured to Discord to step outside and he followed the doctor silently, praying in his head that Celestia will be OK soon. Once outside the room Discord asked the question that had been buzzing in his head like a bee since Celestia went missing. "Will she be alright?" Discord asked, so quietly that he had to repeat himself. The doctor was silent for a few minutes and Discord feared the worse until he got an answer "At the moment it seems she will but we are not 100% sure. The death blooms poison had been in her system for many hours before you found her, any longer and it could've been too late." Discord gave a sigh of mixed worry and anger at every single other draconequus in existence. He knew back in the cave he nearly killed their leader but Disadence was resilient and would not let that get the better of her and now that she knew Discord was working with pony kind? well his life was about to be turned inside out and back to front which, normally Discord would enjoy but the thought of all the innocents hurt or quite possibly killed in her attempt was heart breaking for him. Nodding wordlessly he watched as the doctor trotted off down the hall before sinking into one of the chairs outside of Celestia's room. He hadn't felt this lonely and isolated ever since Celestia and Luna found him as a young colt a few days after the great blizzard destroyed his home and killed his family. But now it felt like he had nothing and no one to live for. As he sat he let his mind drift back to the beautiful white alicorn with the flowing rainbow hair asleep behind the door in front of him and he felt better. He knew no matter what happens she will always be with him and he will always have her to talk to about anything. Luna was the same but also totally different he now fully understood and accepted one simple thing. He was in love with Celestia. whether or not she returned those feelings didn't bother him. He truly loved her and that's all that mattered to him.
