Chapter 10

Discord sat outside for a while longer allowing Luna to have her time with her older sister who had practically raised her while he thought about how there were so many other draconnaqui still alive after the blizzard. He only survived because his parents had told him to hide in a cave while they tried to figure out what was going on. As he pondered over this, Luna opened the door to Celestia's room with a grin plastered on her face, acting like she wanted to jump up and down without a care in the world. "She's awake! She's awake!" Luna chanted as she pranced around, looking like a giddy foal who had just won a prize. When Discord heard this he copied Luna's reaction almost exactly so they looked like they were having some kind of strange dance party. Once he had calmed down and regained his cool he entered Celestia's room to see her. Celestia was sat up in her bed with a small grin playing on her lips, she was still ghostly pale but her mane was flowing more and her eyes had the same old sparkle in them that had always captivated Discord. With his usual goofy grin on his face he went over to the princesses' bed side and sat in the chair provided. "so..." Discord began looking at the alicorn with as much affection as he could without making it too noticeable, "how are you feeling at the moment then?" Celestia gave a soft sigh before answering "I've felt better but I have also felt much, much worse." She gave a slight cough after finishing her sentence which made Discord think the poison was still attacking her making him have a worried expression. Seeing his look just made Celestia giggle causing Discord to frown even more."What?!" Discord asked getting rather annoyed. Celestia giggled for a while longer before answering."I'm fine the cough is just a side effect of the poison but the doctors assured me the poison is out of my body. However I do need to rest and not use my magic for a while encase it causes to much strain on my body." After she finished her sentence her giggles stopped and her smile dropped from her face. "Are you sure your alright?" Discord questioned again getting worried once more. Celestia did not answer causing Discord to have an internal panic attack but then he noticed tears running down the alicorn's face and the huge sobs escaping her almost every second. Unsure what caused the breakdown Discord gave her a hug and let her weep into his chest while he stroked her flowing mane and whispered to her trying to calm her down. After a few minutes Celestia calmed down although she shook with sobs every now and then."Better now?" Discord asked kindly wiping away the last of the princess's tears. All the answer Discord got was a nod and a tiny smile. Not wanting to pressure the obviously still sick princess Discord did not ask why she was crying. Once Celestia had calmed completely they both went silent for a moment neither of them sure of what to say. After a few minutes Celestia took a deep breath and spoke again, her voice shaking with sadness "D-did you know?" She whispered. "Know what?" Discord asked going through the many possibilities of what she could be talking about. Celestia sat up slowly and turned to look Discord in the eye, "Did you know about my parents?" Finally catching on Discord slowly shook his head "I had no idea but I heard what Disadence said to you in the cave. I found out the same time you did." Knowing Discord was not lying she smiled and hugged him before laying back down again. Discord realized this was his chance to tell the princess exactly how he felt, if he didn't do it now the curse might take over and prevent him from ever telling her. So, Discord sat on the chair and waited for the perfect moment and when it eventually came he was ready. It was the end of visiting time and Discord was told to leave. "Now or never..." he thought to himself "uhm...Celestia?" he asked hoping that she hadn't fallen asleep. When a reply came Discord readied himself for what he was going to say. "I well...I uhm...I love you..." he stammered feeling his face flush red with embarrassment at his awkward reveal. For a moment Celestia stared at him, its all she could do, but after a few minutes that felt like an eternity to Discord, Celestia smiled the brightest smile she had in days. "I love you too." She answered giving Discord a small kiss oh his cheek causing his heart to flutter wildly in his chest. Discord just smiled and laid Celestia down in her bed returning a kiss on her forehead. "Goodnight, Tia." He whispered before slowly walking out of the room. Once outside his loves room he noticed that Luna had fallen asleep on the chairs that were in front of the door. Stifling a laugh he picked her up and teleported back to castle to put her in her bed. After leaving Luna's room Discord went to his quarters and once inside, started whooping with joy and danced a little jig. His one true love, loved him in return! After he finished dancing around, he got into bed with a smile on his face and slept peacefully.
