                CHAPTER TWELVE
Connor's POV
I am tired of Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches. Out of all foods, why do they choose to serve this? We're not in kindergarten!

"Am I the only who is getting tired of sandwiches?" I asked.

"Eh." Jared replied with his mouth full of food. I rolled my eyes.

"Please finish chewing your food before you reply Jared. Do you have any manners?" Alana scolded.

"Blah, blah, blah." Jared mimicked with his hand representing Alana.

"Anyway, I-I actually like the sandwiches." Evan said smiling. HE'S TOO PURE FOR THIS WORLD!

I shrugged. "I'm going to head back to the cabin, anyone wanna come?"

Jared stuffed the rest of his sandwich in his mouth and nodded.

"S-sure." Evan agreed.

"Okay. We will leave you lovebirds alone while we head back to our cabin. Have fun, stay safe, don't do anything I would do and we'll see you at dinner!" I called as Zoe's face turned red. She shot me a glare that said 'I'm going to murder you in front of my crush" so I responded with the finger.

We walked out of the cafeteria and onto the path that leads to our cabin. It was hot outside and the fact that I was wearing a long black shirt with jeans and my jacket was not helping.

"Hey Connor, do you see what's on the dock?" Jared questioned. I looked at the dock on the lake and couldn't see anything.

"Uh, there's nothing there?" I stated.

He sighed. "No, look closer." I walked out onto the dock with Jared and Evan following behind me.

"Seriously, there's nothi-" I was cut off from my body splashing into the water. "~BLEEP~ you Jared Kleinman!"

"Connor! Are you okay?!" Evan yelled into the water with worry filling his voice. Jared was laughing in the background.

"Come here and fight me you son of a-" I was cut off once again, this time by Evan.

"Don't ferning curse Connor!" Evan scolded.

"Ferning?" I looked up at Jared for an explanation.

"Instead of curse words, Evan uses tree names and plants." Jared explained.

"Aw." I cleared my throat. "I mean, uh... help me out of this! Seriously, do you know how soaked my jacket is going to be?!"

"O-oh, right." Evan lended me a hand and help pulled me out of the water. Climbing all of those trees gave him muscles. My face turned a light shade of pink. We were now face to face, about 2 inches apart.

"Thanks." I said.

"No p-problem." Evan replied. We started at each other for a few seconds before remembering what we were doing.

"O-oh."

"We should continue heading back. Y-you know, to get you into dry clothes." Evan said.

"Yeah." I agreed.

"When's the wedding?" Jared asked smirking.

"Jared!" Evan and I screamed in unison.

"My bad!" Jared said with his hands held up in surrender.

When we got back I changed into a black t-shirt and new jeans. I hanged my wet jacket outside. When I entered the cabin both Evan and Jared were staring at me.

"What?" I questioned.

"Oh, um, It's just that I've never seen you without your jacket." Evan explained

"You basically live in it." Jared added.

"It's cozy and comfortable." I stated.

"By the way, how are you doing? Since Jared pushed you..." Evan asked. He placed a hand against my forehead.

"Uh, I feel good." I answered.

"Hm, your hot. I-I mean, like, your temperature. You might get sick." Evan frowned. "You should sleep."

"Yay! Something I'm good at and want to do!" I cheered and flopped headfirst onto my bed.

"Well then, um, goodnight" Evan said.

"Night" Jared called.

"Goodnight." I mumbled into my pillow.
