Even though there are three rooms in the hideout area, we decide to only use two of them. We decide that the easiest (and most preferred) way to do it is to split guys and girls. So Jack, Heath, Luke, and I take one room, and Elle, Skylar, Avery, Mackenzie, and Eghosa take the other.

The four of us guys walk inside our room and proceed to unpack. Luke takes out his Rock of Doom (it's a philosopher's-stone type thing... don't ask). from his suitcase and stuffs it into his prosthetics. As I begin grabbing some gaming consoles from my suitcase (which I'm beginning to doubt I'll even need to use), I hear a small whirring at my side.

"Really?" I ask myself, sighing as I turn to face the hovercraft. It's floating at my side, showing a puppy-dog face on its screen.

"Alright, fine. We'll share this room with you," I sigh. It may be a machine, but in terms of personality, it's everything like a human.

"You can communicate with that thing?" Jack asks me. I keep forgetting that neither him nor Eghosa are familiar with the hovercraft quite yet.

"Yep," I answer.

"Do you think we're allowed outside these rooms?" Luke asks as he begins sorting his clothes out. "I haven't had breakfast yet, and I'm starving."

"Me too," Heath adds.

"Dudes, start being smart about this. If you know you're gonna be this hungry later, eat breakfast earlier," I sigh. "But, I don't see why we wouldn't be allowed into the house."

So the four of us walk outside our rooms and head to the kitchen of Dr. Magdon's house. We search through his drawers and eventually find some different cereals each of us will eat, and so we pour ourselves some bowls and walk into the dining room.

"Why, hello there!" a woman says to us gleefully as we walk inside the dining room and take our seats. The woman is sipping coffee while reading something on her tablet. "You must be my husband's new recruits."

So this woman is Dr. Magdon's wife. Huh.

"Yep. That's us," Jack nods.

"Which ones are you?" Mrs. Magdon asks, setting down her tablet to look at us.

We introduce ourselves, and Mrs. Magdon nods, says, "Mhm," and goes back to reading her tablet.

After that, we eat through our bowls (not literally) and then make our way back to the hideout. There, we find Dr. Magdon working on something at one of the desks, with Eghosa, Mackenzie, and Skylar talking to him. Jack and Heath go join them, I go off to find Elle, and Luke more than likely heads off to find Avery (so he can piss her off some more).

As Heath and I are making our way over to the desk, we hear Mackenzie asking Dr. Magdon, "So, explain this whole Genius Files business to me, because I still don't get it."

"I don't either," Eghosa adds.

Dr. Magdon smiles, although not heartfully, and responds with, "It's quite simple: After Dr. Wersaw witnessed the Pentagon attack on 9/11, he realized that the adults of the world are too power-greedy and money-needy that they didn't have the actual time to solve real-world problems. But he figured that kids, since they didn't have to worry about power or money, would be willing to step up to the challenge."

"Which was a dumb decision, coming from a guy who's supposedly smart," I smirk.

"Exactly. Wersaw thought this would be the best idea ever. One that no one ever considered, and one that would for sure work. But as you said earlier, kids of the world just don't care enough. Wersaw's idea was great on paper, but after he realized that actually putting it into action was a terrible move, he knew it had to come to an end."
