Music: Intro from Parodius MSX

Our story begins in a little town in Arizona by the name of Williams. Professor (or, as I'll refer to him, Doctor) Clive Magdon returns from home after a long day of teaching at his university. He hangs up his coat, greets his wife with a "Hello" and a kiss, and then proceeds to wind down on the couch while turning on the TV.

Dr. Magdon flips between channels until eventually, he comes across a news channel with an eye-catching headline: "Herman Wersaw spotted in San Francisco bar".

This startles Dr. Magdon to the point where he very rapidly stands up and has to take a few deep breaths to calm himself down. It's been months since he's heard anything about Dr. Wersaw, and much longer since he's been in contact with him. Dr. Magdon was originally a co-worker for The Genius Files, but spontaneously decided to quit almost immediately after the program fell through. But he's heard about all the dirty work Dr. Wersaw and his "recruits" have done.

And if Dr. Wersaw is still alive... and there's still unfinished business to attend to...

"HONEY!" he shouts after finally calming himself down. His wife immediately rushes into the living room and asks, "What's wrong, honey?"

"Wersaw... he's still out there..." Dr. Magdon is able to get out.

"Wersaw? As in Herman Wersaw?" his wife responds, completely dumbstruck by the news. "Isn't he... dead?"

"That's what we thought... I'm gonna need a few minutes." With that, Dr. Magdon quickly walks to his bedroom, opens the closet, and rummages through a number of shirts and pants until finally, a secret door is revealed. He pushes it open, granting him access to his hideout, which he hasn't stepped a foot into in years.

Once inside, he immediately gets on his computer and opens up a TGF-exclusive program. This program allows certified TGF employees to examine the most recent standardized test scores all around the nation, originally used in hopes of finding the best kids to recruit for the program.

At first, he finds some pretty decent results in a few different states. But one particular city in particular catches his attention more than the others:

Lee's Summit, Missouri.

He clicks the starred folder to take a look at the result. Inside the folder is a list of 9 names, all of them currently eighth-graders. These 9 would've all qualified for TGF. While none of them had the greatest test scores by any means, their range in ability and knowledge would've granted them the privilege. If, of course, the program was still alive.

Immediately, Dr. Magdon knows what to do. He calls one of his good friends, who is also another retiree of TGF. "Mr. Sides?"

"Dr. Magdon! It's felt like an eternity since I've spoken with you," the man replies.

"There's no time for any of that. There's a group of children in Lee's Summit that I need you to get for me. They could be useful for a certain task that needs to be accomplished." Dr. Magdon explains, a constant stress of urgency in his voice.

"Sure thing, ol' pal. Just let me gather up a few men and I'll send them ASAP," Mr. Sides replies.

"Oh, about that... would you mind also sending your children? They were TGF qualifiers before the program dropped, and the kids I'm looking for might need a bit of explanation from them."

"... Dr. Magdon, are you sure?"

"Positive."

"Alright, I'll send them out as well."

"Perfect." The call ends there, with Dr. Magdon sitting in his office, wondering where he plans on taking this.

And that, my friends, is the beginning of another story.

The story of how nine teenagers found themselves on the journey to stop an evil mastermind, using almost nothing but their wits and smarts.

Man, it sure has been a while since I've done one of these... I'm really hoping this turns out good, just btw. :)
