Chapter 11

Rhydian's POV

I stirred in my sleep. As I opened my sleepy eyes they feel on Maddy who was sleeping with her head on my chest, her hair splayed out covering part of her face her soft breath tickling the tufts of hair on my chest. I gently moved her hair from her face, trying not to wake her. She looked so peaceful in her sleep. Just like sleeping beauty. A ray of sunshine hit her eyes and she stirred. brown sleepy eyes slowly opened and locked with mine for a moment. Then she must have remembered where we were and what we did last night, as she hid her face in my chest and grabbed the covers closer to her body. I chuckled a little and kissed the top of her head. Then I lifted her head of my chest and put it on the pillow. I turned into my side and moved down a little so that I was face to face with Maddy.

Me:"morning gorgeous."

Mads:"morning back."

Me:"are you ok?" I asked her concerned.

Mads:"yeah. I'm just a little sore."

Me:"I'm sorry."

mads:"Rhydian stop being an idiot. Why are you apologising?"

Me:"because it's my fault. And we were supposed to wait until you got back. It was supposed to be special."

Mads:" Rhydian it's not your fault. We both wanted it and this was going to happen. It was special. Wait was this not special for you?" She has horror on her face.

Me:"of course it was mads. I thought it might not have been special for you though."

Mads:"Rhydian I told you before. It was special for me. It doesn't matter where as long as it's me and you it will always be special." I smile at her and kiss her lips softly.

Me:"I love you."

Mads:"I love you too." I kiss her again before pulling back.

Me:"we better get back before Jana wakes up."

I say sourly as I'm hit with a sense of loss. I realise in that moment that it's because I miss my family. finally being part of a family and Maddy life here has made me miss what I left behind. I shake my head before Maddy realises. She's already half changed. I smile at her as she pulls her top on. I wear my pants with the duvet over me. Then I get up and pull my top and shoes on. Maddy straightens out the bed and we head for camp hand in hand both contemplating in our own silences. When we get back to camp we assume that Jana is not awake yet as the camp looks desolate. As we walk back to our hut we hear shouting coming from Winnie's hut. We both run over and burst through the door to see Jana screaming at Winnie. It takes them a moment to realise that me and Maddy are there. As soon as Jana sees us she turns on us. I push Maddy behind me and stand protectively in front of her.

Jana:"and where have you two come from."

Me:"we woke up early so we went for a walk."

Jana:"so were you in part of the plan to drug me as well?"

Me:"no one drugged you Jana. You weren't well so Winnie gave you some medicine. You need to calm down." I say cooly.

Jana:"I WAS FINE! THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH ME!" She shouts.

Winnie:"Jana you can go ask anyone. Now calm down and get out of my hut before I throw you out and I mean that literally."

Jana:"you can't throw me out. I'm the pack leader. You wouldn't dare."

Winnie:"I dare you to try me darling." Says Winnie sarcastically. "I'm an elder and if I want I can have you banished. Do not test my patience and get out now." Jana huffs and heads for the door. She stop and turns around. She sniffs the air.
