~ there is always a reason you meet new people. Either you need a change in your life or they need in theirs~
Tired with the long journey, Nandini somehow managed to drag her luggage from the cab to the reception of the hotel she had booked beforehand. Kasauli castles. A famous 3.5 star hotel of Kasuali, since it didn't have any such grand hotels she had found this one the best. Entering her details, she took the keys of her room and crashed on the bed. She was literally tired. A few hours later, she opened her eyes to welcome the moonlight falling through the window, on her face. With a smile she welcomed the night and sat up, fresh as a Daisy. Now that she was up she felt her stomach grumbling and she chuckled at the sound. Well that was nandini, she found her own jokes and her own self the most humorous in the world. Taking a bath, she got ready and ran to the restaurant attached with the hotel.
" Excuse me, may I please get the menu?", She sweetly asked a waiter handed her the same within a minute. Ordering her dinner she sat absorbing the surroundings of the area. It was almost 9 pm and the whole city was lit up with lights. Since the area she was sitting in was a open rooftop, she sat gazing the stars.
Did I tell you it was her favourite pass time? Nandini loved watching the twinkling stars. She had a strange fascination towards them, something she could never give a legitimate explanation to. Hence, enjoying the view up, she had her dinner and rose up to pay at the counter. Paying the bill, she picked up her handbag and took out her phone, that was switched off. She tried switching it on, simultaneously walking forwards to exit the hotel for a walk when she again bumped into someone, her phone now lying on the floor."Holy shit!" , Nandini screamed looking at her phone that now lay broken in pieces, without even bothering to look up at the person.
"Ohh! Hi beauty!", A voice wished her and Nandini looked up to find that same annoying stranger with the same annoying smile.
" I am not beauty!" She spoke through gritted teeth, her good mood from earlier now vanished at his sight.
"Woah woah! Calm down little tiger!", He laughed at her which in turn instigated her more.
"You idiot, you broke my phone", she screamed again pushing him backwards. The other customers and staff around enjoyed the show.
"I did not. You bumped into me, unable to resist me beauty!", He smirked and she grew redder in anger.
" Bullshit! What is there to resist! This monkey like face?", She spoke and he was shocked. None had the audacity to insult Manik Malhotra like that.
"What nonsense! And why are you so worried about the phone? Wasn't it samsung?", He teased her knowing well that it wasn't but the humor owner lost on her. She could not get the joke and hence gave him a 'what' face.
" Leave it beauty! Not your domain!", He laughed and she made a adorable pout, unable to win the argument.
" Good bye Mr stranger, don't ever meet me again, or else you won't go alive", she threatened him but he broke into a laughing fit.
"You? You even know to hold a knife beauty? Ms damsel In distress with a gun?",he started laughing more loudly but this time she had a smirk on her face.
"No I don't stranger. But have you heard the qyote- 'never mess with your doctor'. That might well apply to you", she chuckled at him and picked up her phone and bag.
Without waiting for a reply, she stormed out of the place." Indeed a masterpiece", he smiled to himself. A petite girl threatened him? He chuckled at himself remembering the encounter.
Nandini, who was in a very bad mood, now wanted some peace. She decided to visit Christ Church. It was fomous for its spanish based glass interiors. She walked upto the church talking with her Aiyappa when she noticed a huge crowd in front of the church. Someone was standing in the middle, his heighted frame could be made out from even far. She tried to peek in but failed and at that same moment, a guitar tune filled the ambience of the place.
Ab na mujhko yaad beeta,
Mai toh lamho me jeeta
Chala ja rha hu,Mai kha pe ja rha hu,
Kha hu?
Is yakeen se mai yhaan hu,
Ki jamana ye bhala h,Aur jo raah me mila h,
Thodi dur jo chala h,Wo bhi aadmi bhala tha,
Pta tha!
Jara bus khafa tha!
Wo bhatka sa rahi,Mere kaam ka ji,
wo rasta purana, jise yaad aana,
Jaruri tha lekin, jo roya mere bin,
Wo ek mera ghar tha!
Nandini found the voice extremely familiar and she stressed her voice to make out the source. And bingo! It was the same voice she heard in the train. It was the same person. She circled the huge crowd to move to the front and have a look at the singer's face. The voice which held such passion and emotion, she wanted to know the owner too!
Neel pattharo se mero dosti hai,
Chal meri kya h raah janti h,
Jane Rozana, jamna whi rozana!
Shehr shehr fursato ko bechta hu
Khali haath jata khali lautata hu,
Mai to rozana,
Jamana khud se begana!
Jab se gau se mai shehr hua,
Itna kadwa ho gya ki zehar hua,
Mai toh rozana,
Na chaha tha ye ho jana maine,
Ye umar, waqt, rasta gujarta rha,
Safar ki hi tha mai, safar ka rha!
Mai rha!
Safar ka rha!As the song stopped, the crowd clapped and clapped inconsistently. Even she could not help but praise the voice. A few girls surrounded him and asked for his autograph making Nandini amused. It was the first time she saw girls fangirling over someone they barely knew and the one who sang random songs in places likw trains and in front of churches. When the crowd moved away a little, she stood on her toes to have a look which eventually made her eyes dilated and mouth hung open in shock.
It was the same annoying stranger she met earlier!
