Another Wendy

EVELYN DID NOT like the eyes on her and she felt her heart start pounding. Pan immediately noticed and squeezed her hand. "Boys, this is Evelyn. She will be staying with us."
There was a wave of mummers as the boys whispered. They had heard the stories about Wendy and did not want Evelyn to be like her.
"So you brought another Wendy?" a boy yelled to Pan.
Pan glared and Evelyn felt his hand tighten around hers. "I can assure you, Evelyn is not like Wendy. You will treat her as a sister and if I hear that any of you think otherwise, you will be speaking to me. Am I clear?"
There was a chorus of "Yes Pan" and the boys dispersed but still watched Evelyn curiously, still thinking the girl would be like Wendy.
