Once the one who pulled my hair let go, I started swinging. I hit my attacker square in the jaw, and I put all of my force behind a kick in the others knee. I quickly tried to get up, but the one I punched grabbed my ankle and dragged me towards him, causing me to skin my knees. I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"Help! Help me, somebody!" I cried as my attacker swung at my face.

I started to see spots as he punched and slapped my face. The world was turning orange, and I tried to reach for my blade. The other one stomped on my hand, causing me to cry out. I think my hand's broken, but I can't do anything about it. My main attacker was still on top of me, un- buttoning my cardigan.

"Help..." I croaked, spitting out blood.

Only a moment later, the weight on top of me was relieved. I didn't know what was going on, but I rolled out of the way. One of my eyes was so swollen, I could just barely see out of it, and I crunched my broken hand. Hot tears were pouring out of my eyes as I crawled towards my switch blade. I gripped the handle with my uninjured hand, and swung blindly.

I heard fists colliding with skin as I swung and sobbed. The orange spots were gone and I could see a figure standing over two unconscious bodies. I quickly held out my switch blade as he came towards me.

"Stand back!" I screamed backing away. I forgot about my injured hand that now throbbed with pain. "Please, don't make me do this." I whispered almost inaudibly.

The stranger crouched down, and moved my blade out of the way.

"Shhhh, they're gone now, and I'm not going to hurt you." He said softly, pulling me towards him, and cradling me.

I still couldn't make out who it was, but I didn't care. I burrowed into his shirt and inhaled deeply. He smelled like cigarettes and cheap cologne, but somehow that was comforting.

"Who...are...you...?" I asked, struggling to make out each word.

"A menace to society, a JD, a hood," He answered, chuckling, "but I prefer your hero."

And for some strange reason, I chuckled too, spitting out blood all over his white skivvy.
