We sat down next to each other, taking inventory of everything I brought, including the school supplies I had. There was obviously the food from Stacey's, and I had a pack of gum as well. There was a pack of cigarettes, a copy of A Catcher in the Rye, a notebook, three pencils, red lipstick, eyeliner, scrunchies, a hairbrush, gym clothes, and some barrettes. I guess we could say that I didn't really prepare for my doom. Dally on the other hand brought a heater, spam, a week supply of water (I only had three bottles), more cigarettes, bread, and six cans of Coke. Next to him I felt so useless, but he didn't seem to notice the frown on my face.

Dally pulled out a pack of cigarettes, and lit one. He offered me one, and I accepted, I lit it up as he leaned back against an unsteady support beam.

"So princess," he said between drags "What do you like to do for fun?" he asked, giving me a big wink.

I threw my head back and laughed, he knew I wasn't going to fall for it.

"I just kissed you," I said, still giggling "I didn't propose." I stated, flicking my ashes at him.

He threw his hands up in surrender, and continued smoking. It was a cool, and quiet night, and I could tell it was getting late. There was a large hole in the ceiling above our heads, and you could see the moon.

"Its eleven o'clock." Dally stated, as if sensing my question.

"How do you know?" I asked heading towards the back door to put out my cigarette.

He got up onto his feet, and quickly followed behind me.

"I," he said, pulling up his sleeve "have a watch." He said, flashing me the leather strap.

I mumbled 'smartass' to him as I shoved him off to the side. We both flicked our cigarettes out the door, and returned to what I guess was our home at the moment. He stepped ahead of me, and walked to the side of the church that had a fluffy patch of grass growing there. He plopped himself down, and lay back, crossing his legs and putting his hands behind his head. I just stared at him thinking great, now where am I going to sleep.

He lifted his head off the ground, and propped it on his elbows.

"Well, are you coming or what?" He asked, cocking one eyebrow.

"Let me change first." I said, grabbing my gym clothes out of my backpack.

They were a pair of grey sweat pants, with blue legwarmers, and a bright pink tank.

"No peeking." I warned, pointing a threatening finger at him.

"Alright alright, no peeksies," he covered his eyes with his hands "see?" he asked, wiggling his fingers.

I giggled quietly, and began undressing. I was unzipping my dress when I heard Dally's breath catch all the way from across the room. I quickly pulled my dress back up.

"QUIT IT." I shouted, moving closer to the corner, where I was hoping he couldn't see me.

After that fiasco, I got dressed as quickly as possible, trying to ignore the burn marks his eyes were leaving on my backside.

"Okay, I'm decent." I called over to him "Not like you care or anything." I said, throwing my dirty, gross dress at his face.

"Hey you can't blame a guy for looking." He said defeated, as I awkwardly crawled next to him on the patch of grass.

I tried to leave as much space between us as I could without sliding off of the soft, fluffy grass. It's not that I was uncomfortable; it's just that I don't trust myself too close to him. I'd curl up next to him and kiss him until my mouth turned blue; and that scared me, because that's exactly what would happen.

"I won't bite." Dally said jokingly, putting his arms around my midriff and pulling me towards him.

I dug my nails into the pad of grass, not only fighting him, but fighting myself as well. But the closer he pulled me to him, the looser my grip became in the dirt. It wasn't until I was pressed up against his bare chest, that I knew I would be safe.

"Night, Tina- Beana." He said softly, pecking me on the cheek.

"Don't call me that." I whispered unevenly.

I only knew he chuckled by the vibration in his chest and the hot breath on the back of my neck that made my hair stand on end. It was the last thing I heard before falling into an oblivious sleep under the hole in the church with an unlikely companion.
