Fleur POV

After an uneventful weekend, Monday finally came rolling around. I groaned as I got out of bed, going to feed my guinea pig and dogs. Suddenly, as I was getting dressed, I remembered that there was a certain something, or someone, that would make my day ten times more happier by just looking at them.

Axel.

He finally looked up.

And he was just dreamy.

His skin was about the same color as mine, full pink lips and black inky hair that curled along the edges and looked softer then a kittens fur accented his absolutely stunning ocean blue eyes, seemingly every shade of blue I had ever seen.

Suddenly I snapped myself out of it.

No, I'm not allowed like anyone.

Not after Tom.

Tears started building up in my eyes as I thought of him and I sighed, blinking them back. I couldn't date Axel, I promised myself I wouldn't fall for anymore boys at school, I just couldn't. Plus, Axel would never like an ugly person like me.

I sighed again and looked at the time, before realizing with gasp that it was 6:45, five minutes before my bus usually came. I flew down the stairs and shoved a granola bar in my mouth as I ran a brush aggressively through my wild morning hair. I yelled out good-bye to my mom and ran down the street to my bus stop.

A few hours later

Algebra. My favorite subject. I'm good at math, and Axel sits across from me. My cru- no. No Fleur you are not going through this again. He's NOT gonna be another Tom.

After Algebra on Friday I ran to his locker and after a bit of talking and debating with myself I gave him my number. As friends. He seemed nearly ecstatic at that and we texted the whole weekend. As friends, I kept telling myself.

I tried to be the last person in class, slowly getting my stuff and deciding to stop at the water bubbler before I go. This wasn't ok. I had barely known him a week and I was falling fast.

Not good.

I took I deep breathe, told myself to just try to avoid him as I trudged to Algebra. The second I walked in Axel looked back towards me, smiling. My heart skipped a beat. I noticed how more open he was when we started talking and it made my heart flutter. Unfortunately, so did Claire and Johnny.

I slipped into my seat, the two of them stopped kissing ( yes, I know ) and just looked at us smug smiles on their faces. Axel ignored them.

"Hey" he breathed out to me.

"Hi"

I took my homework and handed it in in the front bin, wincing as I noticed Claire and Johnny had started making out again. A few people yelled to get a room, but they ignored them. As much as it made me uncomfortable, I also sort of envied them. To be in a happy relationship with someone you love.

Then slowly, Axel and I, who had been staring at them, slowly looked at each other, probably thinking the same thing. Almost instantly, he looked down and blushed.

Adorable

Claire and Johnny sprang apart and rushed to their seats as Mrs Gilmore came in, grinning at each other. Mrs Gilmore noticed them and sighed. By this point the whole school knew about them, even the principal, but they had never seen them doing anything, so technically they had no proof.

Algebra class passed quickly and before I knew it Axel was walking with me out of the classroom.

We were the last ones out.

I took a deep breathe as I gathered my stuff as quickly as possible and tried to leave, but he caught up with me quickly.

"Hey Fleur"

"Yeah?"

"I was wondering if you would, um, maybe wanted to like go out for coffee? Um with me? Today?"

I stopped walking.

"What?"

"Um I was wond-"

"Yeah, I heard what you said but... you? Want to go out with me?"

He smiled a little, his face turning slightly pink.

"Well, yeah"

I gulped. Should I agree do this? I mean did I really want to get my heart broken again?

But this was different. This was Axel. At least it felt different.

And I figured I could at least give him a chance. Plus one date couldn't hurt, right? I couldn't honestly fall that fast, right?

Right?!

I realized I was just standing there saying nothing, which was getting him nervous. He started playing with the hem of his shirt and shuffling his feet, which I found incredibly endearing.

"Sure. Sounds fun" I said, smirking.

His entire face lit up as soon as I said that, making my smirk turn into a smile as he held out his arm to me like a prince and I hooked my arm around his, and we both stumbled out of the class laughing like two idiots in love.

Except we weren't.
