Golden Time | Gold x Reader [Pokémon]

It was 8am and you were just heading out of your house. "Good morning, Y/N." you heard someone call. You just had to turn around to the left and there he was; Your male best friend, Falkner, who was out with his dog.

"Hi Falkner." you greeted back, flashing him a smile. "Are you on your way to work?" the dark blue haired male asked, walking over to you with that little dog next to him. You nodded; "You too?"

"Yeah. Wanna walk together?" The male asked and so, you started walking up the street. The city was pretty quiet around this hour, mostly because people were already at work, school or still at their homes. You talked about things that happened recently while walking, and let Falkner rant about his dog and other animals he takes care of.

Falkners' parents owned an animal shelter which was in the more northern part of Goldenrod city - and being the animal lover he is - Falkner works there himself and takes good care of the animals. At the start of this year, he had found a young stray puppy, so he took him in. The puppy had pretty unique fluffy fur; It was dark blue and even matched with Falkners' hair color.

He soon found out it was a Japanese Spitz, and named it Ren. Falkner grew very attached to the puppy, and so he decided to make him his own pet instead of just letting it be one of the animals he takes care of at the shelter.

You just now realized that you were already in front of the hospital building. "Why don't you come for a visit once? I bet you could manage to get along with Gold." you smiled, giving Ren a last cuddle. You weren't sure about Gold though; They were both guys, but you felt like he took 10 years off your lifespan just yesterday.

"I'll come by once, when Ren isn't around." Falkner said and waved before walking away with his dark blue Spitz. The hospital didn't allow animals, so he couldn't have come now even if he had wanted too.

You entered the hospital and were about to head to the wardrobe room - also called, staff room - if it weren't for the sudden ruckus which got your attention; There was a tall, light brown haired man and a woman - who was a head shorter than the man - with black hair, tied in a low, messy ponytail. They were both standing at the reception counter and it seemed that the man was arguing with Morty.

You sighed and walked towards them - a fuss this early in the morning really wasn't necessary. "What's going on?" you asked, the woman and tall man turning around to look at you. The man had purple eyes - which you immediately found fascinating - if it weren't for him glaring at you like that. The woman had beautiful eyes as well; Hers were golden. They reminded you of a certain someone's...

"Y/N, please talk to them." Morty groaned, but the two didn't seem to pay attention. "Are you a doctor?" the woman asked, stuttering. You could tell by her expression that she was very worried about something. Maybe she came to see someone important to her who got hurt?

"I'm a nurse, miss. Is there anything i can help you with?" You asked, glancing at Morty with a questioning look. "Those two keep insisting that they want to see their son, even if i was told he wasn't allowed to get any visitors." Morty explained and the woman got even more desperate.

"Please, let us see him! We came here as soon as we could!" She insisted. You weren't quite sure, but you still asked; "And what's the name of your son if i may ask?"

"Gold. Gold Ethans." the man replied instead, his glare made you shiver slightly. You were surprised when they mentioned his name, although Gold looked pretty similar to this woman; So these were his parents.

"Gold is allowed to have visitors." you stated, looking at Morty suspiciously. "Who told you otherwise?"

"Whitney said he wasn't." the blonde defended. You rolled your eyes; Of course it was her, who else would. You sighed and turned to Golds' parents;
