I watched as Lil walked out of the room. I sighed. She's been through so much, between her dad's job and her mum's job she was always moving around. Her dad is in the nasho, meaning National Service, while her mum was a private investigator.
It's been hard on her. She barely get to see her dad and it doesn't help when her mum doesn't believe her when she says she sees me. I feel like I'm the only one who's there for her, that I'm the only one who understands her. And it maybe that I've known her since we were six, but I was the first person who didn't make fun of her because of her ability.
I remember the day we met. My neighbor had called in a private investigator, which so happened to be Lily's mum, because her youngest son had been kidnapped. He had been missing for a weekand a half already and the police hadn't found anything.
~Flashback~
I was sitting on the front lawn playing with my toy cars when a white car pulled into my neighbors driveway. Mumstood up from her seat and walked down the stairs of the verandah. A lady wearing a red blouse, a black jacket, black pants with red heels got out of the dirvers side of the car.
She opened the back doorand someone got out, but I couldn't see who it was. The woman walked up to the house with a girl who was about six with her blande hair pulled into pigtails. She wore a yellow sundress with sandals.
"Come on Eli let's go and see if the little girl would like t play with you." says mum. I stood up, mum had grabbed my hand in hers and lead me over to my neighbors house. Thelady and girl looked at us.
"Hello. Can I help you?" asks the lady politely.
"My son and I wanted to know if your daughter wanted to come over and play." says mum.
"Uh... well... I don't..."
"Don't worry they can play outside as we all talk on the verandah." say mum.
"What do you say sweetie? Do you want to play with him?" asked the lady.
"Sure." says the girl shyly.
"My name is Eli. What's yours?" I asked.
"Lilianna, but you can call me Lily." she says playing with the bow on her dress. I don't really remember what happened next, but I know we played on the lawn for a couple hours before Lily had to leave.
Since that day Lily and I became best friends. Nothing was going to break the bond we had. Not even death. That's enough of my rambling for now, let's get back to Lily for now. I'll see you next time.
