David sat on the concrete floor of his lover's basement. "Maybe this is just to protect me..." He told himself. He wanted to believe it, but he knew the truth. Daniel was an abusive murderer...
David sighed, looking at the paper and pencil Daniel left with him to keep busy. "Does he think I'm a child?" He scoffed.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Daniel was planning something for his anniversary. "Maybe it should be a proposal!" He exclaimed happily. "With a romantic dinner and everything that'll make him happy!" Daniel grinned and opened the basement door. "Happy anniversary, Davey!" He called down.
David jumped. "O-Oh! H-happy anniversary!" He smiled slightly.
"I decided to be kind and let you come upstairs for today. But you have to do some chores. I have a list of them on the counter. Be good while I'm out, okay?"
David nodded. "O-okay.." He stood up and walked towards Daniel. "Good boy..." Daniel cooed before kissing David quickly. "Bye!" He ran off.
Later that night, David and Daniel walked around town after their nice dinner date. Daniel led David into a flower garden. "Your favorite flowers!" Daniel clapped. David grinned brightly and looked around at the colorful roses.
Daniel quickly got on one knee, pulling out a small velvet box. "David..." He spoke softly as he opened it. "Will you marry me?"
David looked at Daniel, tears threatening to spill. "Yes!" He looked at his hand as Daneil slid the ring on him.
