Liam had walked with Lucy throughout the garden. He had picked a bouquet of crystal roses for Lucy because she had admired them. Their beauty and the way they sparkled. With the assistance of Flora, the nature dragon, Liam had surprised Lucy with the flowers. Liam was staring at Lucy's beautiful the eyes, but behind those eyes he could feel a wall around her heart. He could feel her fear, the fear of loving again. Her posture, her guardiness, her everything told Liam that she was afraid to love again. "Liam!" Lucy called walked over the bridge staring at the water wistfully, as if remembering something good. Liam caught up to Lucy and smiled, "Wanna go back the palace blondie?" he said smiling giddily. Lucy froze and teared up. "Hey I didn't mean to make you cry!" Liam panicked. "I'll be fine." Lucy cried as she ran away back to her palace. "Wait!, I didn't mean to say that! I didn't know you didn't like being called "blondie"." Liam called, running acter Lucy. Lucy ran inside her room and let out sobs.  She curled into a ball and sobbed. She remembered all the times Cobra called her blondie, especially the time her called her blondie when he proposed. Then she remembered him kissing Kinana, everything. "WHY CAN'T I EVER HAVE REAL LOVE?!" Lucy wailed at the top of her lungs which caused the dragons to panic. "I nominate Frost to talk to her!" Igneel said. "No Aqua should Flame Brain!" Frost argued back. "I say Celestia should talk to Lucy." Grandeeney argued with Frost. "I think Aqua-San should talk to Lucy. They've been together the longest." Flora said timidly. "I will talk to Lucy." Liam said, huffing. The dragons stopped and looked at Liam. "should we plan his funeral?" Metalicana whispered to Acnologia who nodded. "Her room is the first one with the golden star." Celestia said. The dragons parted for Liam, who felt like this was his death march. He swallowed his nervousness and made his way into Lucy's room. "Lucy?" Liam said. No Answer. "Lucy!" Liam said a little louder. "LUCY!" Liam shouted, as he barged into her room. There was Lucy holding a knife to her throat. "NO!" Liam yelled knocking the knife out of Lucy's hand. It clattered to the floor and Lucy broke down. "Why did you stop me? I'm not needed." Lucy cried into Liam's chest. Liam held Lucy at arm length and stared her dead in the eye. "Never say that again. Everyone here has a purpose. People in this world like me need you. Because I love you." Liam said as his cheeks heated up. Lucy stared at him her beautiful brown eyes shocked. "You... Love... Me?" Lucy asked. "yes. I can't believe someone like you isn't married by now." Liam whispered, his cheeks rivaling Erza's hair. "I...... love.... you too Liam." Lucy whispered back, before collapsing into Liam's chest. Liam tucked Lucy in and he too fell into darkness.

LUCY'S DREAM

"YOU'RE SO WEAK! 

"SLUT"

"DISGRACE" 

"NO ONE WILL EVER LOVE YOU!" 

Insults were thrown at Lucy as she stood in the middle tears streaming down her face. Cobra came up to Lucy and snarled. "I don't know what I saw in you. You're weak, I can't ever and I will never love you. SLUT WEAK! ROAR OF THE POISON DRAGON!" Cobra shouted. Lucy lay there in a pool of her blood slowly dying. Then Liam appeared. "Liam.... please..... help me." Lucy croaked out. "Never will I help a slut who is as weak as a child." Liam snapped, before turning away, leaving Lucy alone forever. Surrounded by darkness.  

END OF DREAM

Lucy bolted awake crying. She held her knees and sobbed quietly. Liam heard her and hugged her. "What happened?" Liam said, rubbing circles on Lucy's back as she sobbed into his shirt. "It was a nightmare every*hic* one was calling me names and *hic* Cobra attacked me and you appeared and *hic* said you hated me and left me alone." Lucy cried harder. "Look at me Lucy." Liam demanded. Lucy looked at Liam through her tear-filled eyes and he said words that Lucy would never forget. "Lucy I don't care if I'm forced to kill you, I will kill myself, I don't care if I could let you go and I could live, I would let both of us fall because we would be together. Just know that no matter what, Just call me and I'll never let you down. I will always be there because I love you Lucy Heartfillia." Lucy smiled as she kissed Liam. 'What about Cobra?' a voice nagged inside of Lucy. She ignored that voice as she kissed Liam before falling asleep against his chest smiling. She finally found the right person who would cherish her. Aqua opened the door to see Liam holding a sleeping Lucy. She smiled and pointed to the bed, and left whispering, "LiLu... LiLu ship sailing." before closing the door. Then Liam fell asleep hugging Lucy who curled against his chest. Lucy could love again.
