Chapter 1: Meeting Jack Frost

It was morning and the only thing that I heard was this.

"Violet, Violet, Violet, Violet." Some one said. I wasn't sure what it was. That same voice said the same thing over again. "Violet, Violet, Violet, Violet."

I woke up. It was my brother Dash. Of course it was my speedster brother. Jack Jack can't really talk and I'm not sure what his powers are. Dash left. I got up and got dressed. It was first day of school since summer pretty much ended.

"Are you gonna see Tony Rydinger?" Dash asked in a bit of an annoying tone.

"He goes to my school. So yeah. I guess. Why wouldn't I?" I said confused.

"Whatever. And Mom wants you to come and eat something before the bus comes." Dash says.

"Well, the bus is almost here. But fine." I said.

After breakfast, the bus comes and I run out and then I sit next to my best friend, Kari, on the bus. I look around the bus and I notice that one kid looked unfamiliar. I think he is the new kid. I do not know who he is. He had white hair, a blue jacket and brown pants, and his skin is a tiny bit lighter than mine.

I was wondering if I was gonna see him in the halls. Cause I really want to know who he is.

Later at the lockers Tony Rydinger walks up to me and closes my locker. Little did anyone know the new kid was watching what was going on.

I jump a tiny bit when Tony closes my locker.

"You okay?" Tony asks.

"I'm fine, Tony. It just scared me when you closed my locker. I didn't know you where there.

Tony just stands there. "Okay."

"I have to get to my next class soon. I just came over here to get my books. I leave and the new kid walks up to me.

"Hey." He says.

"Hi." I say.

"I saw you jump when your locker closed. Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah. I'm okay. Tony just does that sometimes." I said.

"Oh, so you are Rydinger's girlfriend?" Jack asks.

"Yep. Pretty much." I say.

"Okay. Well, it is a good thing that you are okay. I mean it's great that you have a boyfriend. It's hard to be the new kid. I'm not sure if you can relate. But it is. Uh-." Jack blathers on.

"Violet." I said.

"Huh?" Jack asks.

"My name. It's Violet Parr. And I can relate to being the new kid." I answered.

"Uh. Okay. And why did you tell this to me? You just let me blather on like an idiot?"

I start to giggle. "You would not stop talking. And you are not an idiot-"

"Jack," he interrupts, "my name is Jack Frost"

"Well then. You are not an idiot, Jack." I said.

"I actually need help with something." Jack says.

I nod because I know how hard it is to be the new kid more than he knows. "Uh. Sure. Anything. What is is it?"

"Uh, do you know where Science, Mrs. Evanson?" He asks.

"I am actually going to that class. So you can just walk with me." I said.

"Thanks." He says.

"No problem, Jack." I say with a smile.
