*Braelyn's pov*

"I'll call you into school and explain what happened okay? But we need to head home," LaVar told me.
"That's fine. I'm okay here," I nodded and yawned. It was like 3AM now. I was really tired too. They gave me a hug and pulled away. "Gelo are you staying?"
"Yes," he nodded. They gave him a hug too and then walked out.
"C'mon babe we need sleep too," Gelo laid down on the couch next to me. I sighed a bit and listened the heart monitor beep. Soon enough I fell asleep.

When I woke up I didn't feel Gelo behind me. He must already be awake. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. "Hey babe," Gelo smiled at me.
"Hey," I yawned, putting my head on his shoulder, "What time is it?"
"11," he chuckled.
"Wow I slept awhile," I laughed a bit, "How long have you been up?"
"Like 20 minutes. Your dad came to see your mom but he left to get us breakfast."
"Really? He wasn't mad at me anymore?" I sighed a bit.
"No he wasn't. He seemed better," he nodded. I nodded too and yawned.

My dad came in about a half hour later with McDonald's. "Thanks dad," I smiled at him.
"No problem," he handed it to us, "I'm sorry about yesterday. I was just really upset and I need to take it out on someone and it was wrong of me to take it out on you."
"Its okay," I nodded and started to eat, "I forgive you." He smiled at me and sat in the chair by my moms bed. Gelo and I ate our food and we sat in silence. My dad held my moms hand and started to whisper to her. I sighed a bit and watched them. Gelo held me closer, knowing I was upset. Not even five minutes later my moms eyes opened. "Dad she's awake," I stood up fast and smiled big.
"Oh thank god," my dad started to cry. He hugged her tight. I walked over and hugged her tight. I pulled away when my dad in and we called the doctor in. "So you are doing pretty good but we are going to have the detectives come in to talk to you about who shot you okay?" the doctor told my mom. She nodded and sighed a bit. He walked out, shutting he door behind him. "Yeah what were you talking to him about mom? I heard you guys," I sighed.
"Well if we are going to be honest," she sighed, "Drugs. Nothing terrible like meth or coke. Just Xanax and I know that's bad too but I owed him money for them."
"Mom," I sighed.
"I know I'm not proud of it," she sighed, "But I have been clean for about a week now."
"Well that's good at least," my dad nodded. I agreed too. Then the detectives came in. I went and sat down by Gelo again. I listened to them talk to my mom. Then I got a flashback of the accident.

I looked at the gun and on his wrist was a tattoo. It was a lion head. Then bang. The trigger was pulled.

I shook my head and sighed a bit. "Anything else about him we should know?" they asked.
"No I don't think so," my mom shook her head. She never knew his real name, just his street name.
"I have something," I spoke up.
"What is it?" they looked at me, as did everyone else.
"Well I saw on his wrist there was a tattoo of a lion head. It was umm his left wrist, the one he had the gun in."
"Thank you very much," they smiled at me. I smiled weak back and cuddled into Gelo's chest.
"That was brave of you. I know it is hard to talk about," Gelo whispered to me. I nodded and cuddled into him closer.

"So are you two a thing now or?" my mom smiled at us.
"Yeah we are," Gelo answered before I could.
"I always knew you two would get together," she smiled at us, "Since you were little."
"Mom stop," I blushed, giggling.
"I'm just saying!" she smiled, laughing a bit too.
"Seeing you are her boyfriend now not her best friend you and I are going to have to talk," my dad spoke up toward Gelo.
"Dad no," I groaned, "It's okayyy."
"No, no I need to talk to him," my dad shook his head, "First off no sex. Second you hurt her and I know where you live kid."
"Dad stop," I laughed, "We are almost 18 we are going to have sex at some point. It's bound to happen."
"No, no its not," my dad shook his head.
"Mmk whatever you say," I laughed, "Are you done now?"
"No I am not," my dad shook his head again, "Third goes to both of you. Door stays open when he is over for now on."
"Alright hun they get it," my mom laughed.
"Thank you," I laughed. There was a knock on the door and my dad yelled for them to come in. Tina and LaVar walked in. "Hey you're awake!" LaVar smiled at my mom.
"I am, doing well," she smiled small.
"She is," my dad smiled.
"Recovery is hard but I know you can do it," LaVar smiled, "how are you kids?"
"Good," Gelo nodded, "I'm guessing I have to come home tonight and go to school?"
"You're right on," LaVar laughed.
"Do I have to?" I looked at my parents.
"No sweetie its okay," my mom smiled at me. I nodded and cuddled into Gelo.
"How about I bring you two home and we get you some clothes and stuff okay?" LaVar smiled at me.
"Okay," I nodded and stood up. I kissed my moms cheek and hugged her tight. I followed them out and got in the car. "How was your dad?" he asked.
"Way better, he apologized for what he said," I nodded.
"Good if he ever lashes out again you are welcome to come over and stay with us okay?"
"Thank you," I smiled at him.
