Ch. 5 Recovery (Forth POV)

Forth Pov

It didn't take long for Yo to fall asleep. He looked like an angel. I sat there still singing the lullaby hoping he could still hear it in his sleep. I did not notice that someone had walked into the room until I heard the door close. I turned around thinking it was Ming but it was just the doctor.

"How's his condition doctor?" I asked not knowing how he was on the inside.

"He could be worse. With some well-deserved rest he will heal over time. He may need to go to therapy since he won't be walking for a while. The stitching should disappear as the incision heals."

"That's good. Can you tell from the scars how long this has been happening Doc?" I asked since I saw them when I got close to Yo.

"I can't give an exact time but I can deduce that it's been a long time maybe months since the scars are still fresh looking." He answers.

"Damn it!" I say punching the armrest on the chair.

I wish we had gone and seen him sooner if we had then Yo wouldn't be in so much pain or be in the condition he is in now.

"How long will it take him to recover?" I asked

"It depends. Maybe weeks or months? As long as he isn't put under much stress his body will recover in no time."

That's better news than any. A knock comes from the door. *knock* *knock* *knock*

"Come in quietly he's asleep." I say

The door opens. It's Yo's parents.

"Oh, my baby." His Mother says "How could he do this to you?" She continues while gently rubbing his face.

"I'm gonna kill that man." His father says, his voice filled with malice.

"I tried Uncle but the police had stopped us. But now I am glad I didn't because I can't go to jail and leave Ming all alone. I also think that although Phana hurt him killing him would make Yo more hurt than he is now. All we can do now is wait. The police have Phana in custody right now which is for the best for the time being." I say.

"You're a good man Forth. I wish he chose someone like you over that man. I'll make sure that he gets what he deserves." he said.

Yeah, I wish he chose anyone but Phana. I wish he had chosen me. No, wait?! What am I thinking? I have Ming and I love him with all my heart. Am I showing pitty towards Yo? No. That's not it. It's a different feeling but I don't know what it is. Whatever Forth just Focus right now this isn't the time.

"It's all up to Yo to see if Phana truly gets what he deserves. It's his decision if he wants to press charges. I'm sure there's enough evidence to put him away for good but again it's all up to Yo." I tell him.

"Knowing my son I don't know if he has the courage to do so. As long as that man is away from my son that is all that matters. I want him dead but I know that's impossible. How's Wayo doing by the way?" he asks.

"He's doing fine on the outside but I can tell he's hurting inside but he won't say everything that is on his mind. Yo's always been stubborn like that. His physical condition should better with some rest and he may have to do some therapy to get back up on his feet." I explained.

We all completely forgot the doctor was there until he cleared his throat. *uh hum*

"Mr. and Mrs. Panitchayasawad will you be taking Yo home once he's well enough?" the doctor asked.

"Yes, we will. We are always busy and have a serious important business trip to attend to. We may have to hire a caretaker for as well until we get back." Yo's Father says.

"Uncle and Aunty Ming and I can care for him while you're gone if you want so Yo can have some friends to be with? I'm sure Yo won't mind I think he'll love and need the company rather than some random person." I ask

"Are you sure you're fine with that Forth? I don't want you to take time out of your day or intrude between you and Ming. We can just hire the caretaker and you guys can visit him?"

"Yes, I am sure Uncle. We don't mind doing so." I answer both Ming and me.

This way Yo and Ming can find time to talk to each other and get it all sorted out.

"You'll take good care of my baby while we're gone right?" his Mother asked.

"Yes Ma'am," I say while bowing to her.

"Okay Forth both you and Ming can stay in the guest bedroom while we're gone. We hate to abandon our son but this trip is too important to miss the company relies on it." Yo's dad says with regret written on his face.

"Don't worry sir. I know your son well and he'll understand completely." I answer.

Yo's always been completely understanding when it comes to these types of situations so I know it will be okay. It's the reason why I am making the decision to do this.

"Okay." the doctor says "We will supply you with the items and things you need to do once Wayo has been given the all-clear to be released from the hospital and into your care."

"Thank you, Doctor. For everything." Yo's Mom says.

"Where's Ming Forth?" Wayo's dad asked.

"He's uhm getting some food." I lied

I didn't want to tell them about Yo and Ming's altercation. I didn't want to make them rethink their decision of letting us take care of  Yo because this may be their only chance to remedy their friendship before it starts to deteriorate even more.

"Okay, Aunty and Uncle. I'll be right back I am gonna go look for Ming. He might've gotten himself lost. You know him. It also gives you some time to spend alone with him and has a chat if he wakes up." I say walking to the door.

I exited the room and walked down the hall towards the hospital's cafeteria. I am starving. *stomach grumbles*
