Chapter One

~Taylor's P.O.V~

¨Hey sexy¨ I heard a feminine voice say excitedly. I turned around and quickly embraced my best friend Joslyn into a hug. We hadn't seen each other all summer break due to her taking a trip to the Bahamas and leaving me here to lay around all summer. I mean dont get me wrong I swam and went through the woods because of all the photo opportunities but it just wasnt the same without her. I stepped back from the tight hug to glance at her outfit. 

She was wearing a pair of ripped black skinny jeans and a grey sweatshirt that was cut off at the belly button with a pair of vans. Her makeup was a simple eyeliner wing and her hair was in a messy bun. I sent her a playfully wink to which she smirked and spun around causing us both to burst into laughter.

 As I began spilling the new supplies from my book bag into my locker she began telling me all about the pictures she had taken and how beautiful everything was. Once I was done we both walked to her locker which she proceeded to do the same as I had done, however still talking about her trip while I nodded listening along adding in a view ¨Ohhs¨ and ¨Ahhs¨.

 Once she was done with checked out each others schedules and realized we only have 3 classes together out of the 7 which was 5th, 6th, and 7th. We pouted as we had to split our ways but promised to update each other at our lunch break which would be after 4th period. I boringly skipped to my first period which was writing. 

My schedule was pretty normal for me I guess. I had Writing first, then reading second, then art class in third, leading to biology in 4th to where I would go to lunch which after me and Joslyn would have Band, Cadet Corps, and then History. 

As I was scanning through my schedule I ran into someone and suddenly looked up frantic and caught the book I had knocked out of their hand. I looked up at the person to be greeted by bright green eyes which lead to the perfect smile and the longest brown hair. 

¨Im sorry¨ I mumbled starring at her in awe. She laughed nervously.

¨No problem¨ She spoke in a gentle tone as she politely took her book back and walked into writing class. I followed behind after a few moments of standing there in awe. She had already sat down and was sketching in a notebook. 

I quickly noticed that all the seats were full except for the one in the front of the class, to which this mysterious girl was in the back laughing with a group of boys. I realized she was wearing a pair of jeans with a hole in the knee and a hoodie and her brown hair was down. I sighed and walked over to the empty desk and sat down sketching in the corner of my notebook. Today was going to be a long day. 

-3 classes later- 

So it finally hit lunch time and I got to see Joslyn again. I sat down next to her scanning the cafeteria for the girl as she continued on telling about her trip..

¨So then he was all like ¨oh no i know my shit¨ and i was like old man i dont think-¨ joslyn carried on but she stopped mid sentence and snapped two fingers in front of my face. 

¨Hellllo are you even listening??¨ she questioned annoyed. She followed my glare to the new girl and smirked. 

¨That's Kayla.¨She stated. Joslyn knew I was a lesbian however no one else knew and I had intended for it to stay like that...

I snapped out of my glare and looked down blushing like crazy as Kayla's perfect Green eyes met my dull blue ones before she quickly glanced away. 

¨Aw you like herrr¨ Joslyn cooed quietly. I slapped her arm playfully.

¨I do not!¨ I whispered harshly suddenly blushing and feeling nervous. 

¨Pft whatever¨ Is all she replied with before going back to her lunch. I looked back over in Kayla's direction to see her starring at me however she quickly looked away. 

Today has been by far the weirdest first day of school, I thought to myself as I began taking small bites out of my lunch.
