A/N: Two chapters today! This first one is short. Also, Zeke is going to take over next chapter. I'll let him explain...

After closing Gwen's door, Neil walked slowly to his room. he sighed as he closed the door behind him and leaned against it.

He did something stupid. He admitted to Gwen what he couldn't admit to himself only last night. Was it the influence of everyone around him? Was it a connection forged centuries ago by a legend? Or did he actually feel the way he said he did?

He thought about everything he knew about Gwen. When he first met her, she was quiet, but she smiled a lot. She was a great listener, and she never interrupted. Then when it came to a subject she enjoyed, she opened up and shared her knowledge. While she spoke her mind, Neil knew she held back at times. There was always something more on her mind.

Everything about her made Neil smile. As far as he was concerned, her only flaw was that she didn't see her own value. If she ever showed pride, it was in a sarcastic manner. When she received praise, she didn't fully believe it. He wanted to show her how much he saw in her. He wanted her to know she was special.

Neil pulled out his journal. He opened to a fresh page, wrote the date, and then stopped. No words came to his fingers. Too many thoughts occupied his mind for him to pick just one. But they always came back to one thing.

"Gwen."
