"My lady. My lady! Beggin' your pardon, my lady, but it's time for you to wake up."

I groaned and curled up tighter in the warm blankets. I felt that weird dizzy headache I get when I wake up too early. I didn't know what time it was, but it was definitely too early.

But really. 'Beggin' your pardon'? Who says that any more? Sheesh.

"I have a supply of adrenaline, my lady. Don't make me use it."

Adrenaline? Why in the world did Kat have adrenaline? I decided I could get up early for once.

I pushed myself up in the pink bed, but didn't open my eyes yet. I rubbed them and complained, "Why do I have to get up so early?"

"Because, dear, you have lessons to attend!" Kat said sweetly. She pulled at my arm, forcing me out of bed.

"Hey! What time is it anyway?" I rubbed the gunk out of my eyes as I adjusted to the light.

"Six a.m. of course."

"Seriously?" I grumbled. I sat on the bed and reached for my glasses. When I put them on and finally opened my eyes fully, I couldn't believe the sight in front of me.

Kat was wearing full body bright pink camo. I guess I figured out who designed the room.

"What's up with you and pink?"

Kat pouted. "What's wrong with pink?"

"Normally, it's fine, but it's hard to stand a room-full like this one! It hurts my eyes."

"You don't like my design?" Yep. "Everyone told me the queen would love it!" Were you threatening them at the time?

"Well, I don't like it," I said firmly. "Can you arrange to have it redecorated? The colors in the sitting room look nice."

Kat's eyebrow twitched. Her face looked plastered as she forced it into a pleasant expression. Her hands shook with suppressed anger.

"Of course, my lady," she said through her grimace. "I'll see to it at once."

I smiled a nice big grin. "Thanks! Now you can leave so I can get dressed."

I held back a giggle as she walked stiffly out of the room. Once the doors closed behind her, I went to the closet, shoulders shaking in laughter.

As I had discovered last night, most of the clothes available were dresses and skirts. The downside is that a lot of them looked like they wouldn't fit me. I rummaged around for a skirt that would fit, then found a nice blouse that would match. I ended up with a light green outfit, totally in spite of the pink. I found a pair of size nine flats and white socks to go with it.

I looked at myself in the mirror and realized my huge mistake: I needed a shower! I hurried to take a shower, the warm water felt so good over my dirty hair and body. Then as I left the bathroom, dressed again and scrubbing my hair with the softest towel ever, there was a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I shouted. A young girl came in pushing a cart full of food. "Awesome, food!" I said, discarding the towel. "Thanks. What's your name?"

The girl curtsied awkwardly before setting food on the table. "My name's Agatha, miss."

"Agatha," I repeated. "That's a great name." I smiled at her and she glanced back shyly.

"You think so, miss?"

"I said it, didn't I?" I replied with a giggle. "You don't have to be so formal around me."

"Thank goodness," Agatha said with a heavy sigh. "This royalty stuff is ridiculous."
