Overdose on Confidence (just a bit)

It's been a week since the incident. Angela left me alone but still talked about me, right to my face. Sarah and Kristen filled Hannah in. Hannah hadn't been in school that day because she got sick. They all didn't pry at me, about when I cried. Everything was semi normal with a hint of tension. Mason and I walked home from the bus stop together everyday. We walked extra slow because my house was further than his. It was Friday and I didn't want to do anything. Maybe I should ask Hannah, Kristen, Nicole and Sarah to go to a movie. I want to see Divergent. The beginning of the day went by fast. Mostly because of Mason's cheesy jokes, but I laughed anyway. It was finally lunch.

"Hey Hannah wanna go to the movies tonight?"

"Oh hell yes, I don't want to be home alone."

I laughed and so did she.

"Sweet just lets meet at Show Time at eight."

"Sounds cool, see ya then."

I decided not to invite Kristen ,Sarah and Nicole. Mostly because when I'm with Hannah, it's totally different. They all are friends just different topic of interests. We all talked about random stuff like we always do. As always Nicole would end up calling me a hoe and me saying she was a slut and then we'd laugh our ass's  off.

It was finally the end of the day and I could relax till the movies. The final bell rang throughout the halls, and everyone rushed to the bus. I was plugged in and tired, so I wanted no shit from anyone on the bus. I had a seat all to myself for once.

"Hey Scarlet."

I looked up to see three pop guys. Mateo, Erik and Jake. Along with Mason behind.

"Um... Sup Matt. What are you doing on this bus, you're not usually here?"

"We're gonna hang with Mason today , then go to a movie around eight."

I looked at Mason and he could just tell I was uncomfortable.

"Sounds cool enough."

"Hey mind if I sit with you? All the seat are taken."

"Yeah sure no problem." He slid in while I was mid sentence answering him.

I quickly moved over, allowing him to sit, instead of sitting on me. Abercrombie cologne filled the space. I looked up to Mason's eyes. He looked angry because we always sat together after school and before. I also see something else. Jealousy? Was Mason jealous that Mateo was sitting with me? I mouthed sorry to him. He nodded and moved to sit with Erik. The rest of the ride was nothing but unusual. Well for me at least. All of them were talking and I listened to my music. When The Man came on I immediately looked at Mason, but he was already looking at me. We both I laughed a little and he blushed, which was the most adorable thing in the world. I never remembered the bus ride being that long, but it was.

Finally it was our stop. I looked over to Mason who didn't move. I tapped Mateo on the shoulder.

"Umm this is my stop."

"Cool."

I walked away and felt feet behind me. I walked to the tree in silence.  My I-Pod died, great just great. I listened to the crunching of leaves under my feet. The sound of bees buzzing. The russle of branches, indicating life in that tree. I smiled at how beautiful nature was that day. Then I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder. It was Mateo.

"Hey Scar...I can call you that right? But anyways I didn't know you and Mason lived near each other."

"Uh yeah he just moved here."

They all looked at each other and smiled. Erik spoke up.

"Can we come over to hang?"

I honestly didn't know what to do. I couldn't turn down the pops. I had to hesitate to answer.
