Well, since I really like this story, I’m typing in quite a lot this week. Maybe it’s because I’m bored. But I’m glad that the ideas keep coming. As I said, this is my favorite story yet. Well, I’m pretty comfortable writing in English. By the way, please support my other stories. THANKS A LOT! Continue with the support, to future readers. THANK YOU! Now LET’S GET ROLLIN’.
Well, I’m already in Chicago and I’m actually in the place Grandma Portia rented out for me, and now, I’m facing a very worried lady. She looked like a shaking leaf. She was sweating bullets, it got me worrying too.
Addie: “Oh my god. Are you okay? Uhm, can I get you something? Water maybe? Oh, dear.”
Woman: “What? Oh, What? Oh, I’m so sorry. Who are you again?”
Addie: “Oh, okay. I’m Addie Collins. I’m the new tenant. My grandmother called here and reserved an apartment unit for me. Her name is Portia King.”
Woman: “Oh dear. We have a bad situation here. I’m really sorry, but I need you to come with me please.”
Addie: “Oh, right. Are we going to my unit now? I really need to get these bags down if I could.”
Woman: Don’t worry. You can leave them…Oh where. Oh, okay. You can leave them here for the time being. I just need to have a little chit-chat with you if I may. Please follow me.”
So the young woman led me to a lovely looking apartment unit. I saw pictures of the young woman, on top of the fireplace mantle. She was wearing a wedding dress in one. She was next to a very attractive man. She went to what I think was the kitchen. Then she got me a cup of coffee. She sat down across me.
Woman: “Uhm, hello. I’m Catherine by the way. Catherine Reeder. A pleasure to meet you, Ms.?”
Addie: “Well, I’m Addie. Adeline Jade Collins is the full name. I’m from the country side of Chicago.”
Catherine: “Oh, you’re from the country side I see. Must have taken you a long time to get here.”
Addie: “Not that much. Although I could say that the traffic here is worse that back at my place. Mmmm. You brew such a delicious cup of coffee.”
Catherine: “Uh, thank you, very much. My husband adores that brand of coffee, so we have like, 20 jars of that here.”
Addie: “WOW. Your husband must be a real coffee-holic. To have like that much is pretty awesome. Anyway, you two look lovely in your wedding photo.”
Catherine: “Why thank you. It is such an honor to hear that…From a total…stranger.”
Addie: “Well, technically I’m not a stranger since I’d be living here. So may I see my unit now? I would love to talk more, but maybe we can get my things up or down to where it is.”
Catherine: “A moment please? LUKE! Where are you Luke? Can you come down here please? LUKE!”
After Catherine shouted, I heard sudden booming from the metal stairs. A man, tall and quite handsome, came through the door. He was wearing a Lady Gaga shirt that said, “BORN THIS WAY”. It was pretty awesome. I wanted to ask him where he got it. Then, I saw Catherine’s expression while looking at the guy. She was pretty annoyed, that’s for sure. The guy, Luke, looked like he wanted to get away as fast as he can. Catherine started to talk.
Catherine: “LUKE! This is ‘Addie’ Collins. And she happens to be the new tenant at our apartment complex. Care to explain?”
