As winter drew near, Cassidy started to stock up on sweets to, as she so put it, 'keep the Grinch away'. Really it was just an excuse to endulge on Fizzing Whizbees and Sherbet Lemon.
On Christmas Eve, Cassidy was heading towards the Owlery to send a letter to her parents, when she came across a group of girls in her year, 3 of whom were Slytherins. The stopped and smirked when they saw Cassidy.
"Uh, a Ravenclaw," they snarled, "They're all the same; cocky know-it-alls,"
"Actually, I think you'll find I'm not cocky- you're the horrible ones," Before Cassidy could do anything, one of the girl stepped forward and hit her. She shied away, and the girl, snarled, "Wuss," Cassidy felt powerless, as another girl hit her with a hex that made her fall to the floor. With a snigger, the girls turned and left.
Cassidy slowly picked herself up, and ascended the staircase the the Owlery. She bumped into Scorpius, who smiled at her. Then noticing the tears in her eyes and a bruise on her forehead, he asked, "Are you okay Cass?"
Without warning, Cassidy burst into tears, and sat down on the staircase. Scorpius sat next to her, and supported her head on his shoulders. Cassidy had finally let out all the emotions of the past few months, the scares, the worries, the fears of disappointing her family.
Every sad emotion left in those tears.
