Secrets is no longer a secret if you tell

Tuesday

Weeks flew fast and we are here shopping for prom happily
My brothers are also done with the semeser so they will be back today or tomorrow but I Have a feeling is today.

"Our dresses have arrived"Halima cheered the moment she entered the room holding bags

"Wear it let's see"i said happily

After we wore the gowns it was perfect
Mine was a ball like gown while Halima's own hugged her curves perfectly
Mine is green in colour while hers is orange and gold sleeves.

"I'm pairing it up with my choker diamond necklace and my headtie perfectly tied"Halima said as we glanced at our reflection in the mirror

"I will just wrapped a black veil around my head"i said smiling

"Hmm Nailah holy holy"Halima teased hitting my shoulder softly

"Shut up Halima"i said repairing my dress sleeve

We suddenly heard a knock on the door

"Aunty said Nailah is wanted in the living room"the house help called from outside

"We are coming"Halima said

We changed into our normal clothes then walked into the living room

And i was surprised by the faces staring at me

"Are you not happy to see us again?"Salim spoke

I smiled hugging them one by one happily

Until someone clears throat and it was Our Principal

"I'm sorry I didn't see you there,good afternoon"i greeted slightly embrassed

"Good afternoon"Halima greeted everyone

"Afternoon girls"Aunty Ummulkhayri greeted with a grin

"Nailah we have someting to tell you,a secret we have been holding in
We were waiting for you to write all your external examinations before we tell you
That's what Ammamih also wanted"Jamal spoke nervously
And i nodded

"Yes,I was told you stay here now with your new mother.i am so happy the world has not lost good souls"Aunty Ummulkhayri said softly and we all smiled

"The truth is you and Numan have been bethrothed since childhood
Your parents knew and we also did
After we got separated I was worried for you both but I kept on praying and we found you
If you don't believe I have agreement papers"she added anxiously and I was shocked with the new infromation

"No...I believe you,you wouldn't cook up lies.i am just surprised"i said honestly

"You can have your time,Numan will wait.he has been waiting for so many years"she spoke again and I suddenly felt bad for him

"I will get going now but here is his number,he is back and he will meet you anytime you are ready"she added handing me paper with a number neatly written

Then she turned to mama and said"I will take my leave,thank you Maman Halima(Halima's mom)"

Mama glanced at me with a worried expression before she stood up to escort Aunty Ummulkhayri out.

"Nailah"Kamal called when I got up

"Everyone knew except Me!why!"i said raising my voice angrily

"Ammamih wanted it like that,please forgive us all"Jamal reasoned

"See you at the graduation"i said running to Halima's room

"Nailah!you are not wearing sneakers under"Halima scolded giving me a pair of wedge shoes

I scoffed rolling my eyes

"Okay,happy?Let's go"i said after wearing the shoes

I hid my sneakers inside the bag before we rushed outside

"Come back early,don't talk too much to boys make sure you stick to each other"Mama warned raising her finger and i nodded

"Mama you treat us as if we are Amar and Amra"Halima cried

"You are two pretty little girls"mama said pulling her cheeks softly

"Take care and make sure you call the around eight"she added

"That means we are going only for like one hour"Halima said sadly

"And a half"i added and she glared at me

"We don't want your Baba getting offended do we?" Mama asked with a raised brow

Everyone is used to me being around except Baba
Halima told me he doesn't warm up to people easily that it took him two years to start laughing and playing with her
I asked her how she could remember?she showed me the pictures
I know she is silly!

"I mean our school life is so boring!no guy bothered to ask us to prom
Maybe because we have always shooed them away" she complained the moment we entered the care

I'm happy she is letting go of Bilyamin,the past
I wish I can let go of Doctor Abba and love my new fiance instead

I chuckled

"You should have told your future husband
So that atleast you would have a picture as a memory or something"Halima said looking up from her phone

"Forget it"i said sadly

"You are so stubborn at times,I'm sure you never texted him"she said pointing her finger at me

I rolled my eyes

The moment we arrived at the venue,Amira and Firdaus were waiting outside

We got down and I almost lost my balance but I held onto the door

"Girls oh my God we all look amazing!"Amira exclaimed happily in her pink mermaid gown

"I know right!selfie!"Firdaus spoke smiling and everyone got in position

We quicky snapped

"Let's go in"Halima said

"I forgot to carry something in the car ,let me go"i said making up an excuse

"Come soon"they said in unison

The girls walked away chattering here and there

I sighed the moment i tied my laces,I will never say never but to anything high.I can!

I greeted my classmates here and there happily

"Let's go eat then snap pictures"Halima said the moment i approached our table

"Why do you seem shorter?"she asked the moment she stood next to me

I shook my head

"You wore the sneakers,didn't You?"she asked and the rest of my friends stared

"You caught Me!"i exclaimed

And we all burst into laughs

Ammamih,is this it?
Doctor Abba and u weren't not meant to be?
I so miss your advices
Now I know why you buying my house stuffs
You knew I was getting married sooner

Prom prom😂
My prom date didn't come
I spent it eating
While others were dancing and snapping pictures
I was licking my icecream and eating cake😂😂😂
But I was able to snap with my civil engineer😍💚(don't ask who,I am shy😋)I pray he doesn't understand when he accidentally reads this
