"Hansol, you can't be serious about doing this!" Dino whisper yelled, at the thought of even thinking about doing this dare. As Seokmin and Dino cringed at the idea of doing this, Hansol on the other hand didn't even blink an eye, he knew he had to do it at some point. The way he treated the people who he fostered was inhumane. He did it all for the money, not to help the children in anyway. There were ten of them living there, living in a small room, and barley getting any food.
"Its about time someone said something." Hansol snapped. Hansol had an expressionless look on his face and the expression made Dino feel a bit uneasy. Hansol noticed this and instaintly his face softened, he hated seeing any of the boys sad, they were like his brothers, he had always felt the need to protect them. " Sorry, I just mean we can not go on living like this and this is the perfect excuse to tell him off."
"Hansol, you will for sure get kicked out and where will you go from there?" Seokmin worried, he also knew that living like this was not right, but telling him off would be a last resort. There foster dad was a drunk, not afraid to throw a punch if someone talked back. Thought of the ten of them as if they didn't have feelings, he barley gave much food. He never paid much attention to them unless he was mad, and in need of a punching bag. If one of them went missing he probably would not even notice until the police showed up saying they were dead.
"I know." Hansol gulped, "But if it helps you guys in anyway then it is worth it." Hansol gave the two boys a reasuring smile.
"Please don't-"
"I'm going to do it, he needs to be told what he is doing is wrong." Hansol sympathized, he just wanted the younger ones to be safe. The youngest was a boy named Samuel, he was only nine and the easiest target. Hansol tried to take him out of the house as much as he could, and when he heard about Nerve he knew winning would help him. He could save Samuel from the torture. The others were able to leave freely, but him being so young had its restrictions. "I'm sorry."
"There is no need to be sorry, we just want you to be okay. You are part of our small family." Dino explained with a small smile.
"I'll go with you." Seungkwan chimed in.
"You really don't need-"
"I want to be there to make sure you are okay." Seungkwan interrupted with a reassuring smile, letting his hand extend toward Hansol's.
"Sure, but I just need you to stay outside." He smiled, interlocking his hand with Seungkwan's. Hansol quickly remembered he hadn't clicked the accept button and quickly turned his phone on, the timer ticking down from 10. He swiftly hit the green button, and it came up with a timer, but instead of the familiar 5 minute timer, it was counting down from ten minutes. "We should get going."
Seungkwan nodded and scooted out of the booth. They both waved to the two other boys who were now sitting in the booth. Dino and Seokmin still looked concerned but Hansol just gave them a reassuring smile before turning toward the door and dragging Seungkwan behind him. The bells on the door jiggled as Hansol pushed it open to let them enter the warm July air.
"So where do you live?" Seungkwan asked as Hansol started leading him away from the small diner.
"You'll see." Hansol said, smirking at Seungkwan, "Let's just say it is not the nicest part of town, or the most appropriate to be raising ten kids." Seungkwan noticed Hansol was taking him toward the worst part of Seoul, he would have never imagined someone raising children here, or rather letting children fend for themselves. Chills ran through his body thinking about going there, his parents had always warned him about crime there, they always said to stay away, but now he was going there with a boy he had met not to long ago. Hansol must have felt the sudden chill in Seungkwan, so Hansol squeezed his hand with a small smile. Seungkwan must of forgot that they were holding hands, and remembering that they were made him blush.
