My jaw dropped, "Wow. I didn't know that."Well, I was kinda disappointed.
I mean, Miles was nice and all... well, he was really just nice. That's all.
Suddenly, he burst out laughing. "Just kidding."
My eyes widened even more. "Wait- you have a sense of humor?" I asked incredulously.
His laughter stopped, and he glared at me.
"SO who is it?!" I demanded, loosing patience.
"Me," Aiden finally said. "I realized it when I was walking home from visiting my friend at night. You were walking from school."
I gasped. "I knew that wind voice was you!"
He smiled. "I also gave you the cat."
Now THAT surprised me.
"You... what?" I asked. "But you're afraid?"
Aiden shrugged. "I thought you could use a companion. And I knew I'd get over it. So I tracked down that cat and made Garret kidnap it. Or catnap. I really committed two crimes that day."
"Thanks," I smiled. Wow. That was almost... decent of him.
"Uh, no problem?" He asked, caught off guard by my thanks.
Man. I was starting to like it here. So now I really had to leave.
"You're... strangely calm about this all," Cole pointed out.
I managed a smile, "After the whole werewolf bomb, anything else that comes along will seem normal."
Garret smiled, "Good point."
I went over and sat down on the comfy couch, next to Garret.
Surprisingly, I didn't mind that much that Aiden was my mate. But it didn't change anything about my escape plan. I'm sure he would get over me. Or we could just date after I was home like a normal person.
"So now what?" I asked. "Anything else I should know?"
"Your cat is actually a girl," Aiden offered.
My jaw dropped.
WHAT?
"WHAT?" I exclaimed. Inky padded into the kitchen just then, and I shot him, or her, a glare.
"Yep," Cole smiled.
"Why didn't you ever tell me?" I scowled at my lady cat.
"Meow," She said, licking a paw.
"Yeah, well we aren't finished here. We are gonna have a serious talk later," I told her in a hard voice.
The sense of betrayal I felt at the moment was astounding.
"So... now that that's all out of the way..." Cole began, a grin lighting up his face. "How about we play a game?"
We all groaned simultaneously, including me this time.
"What now?" Garret complained.
"I like games!" Adeline beamed. They were too perfect for each other.
"Hmmm... that's a good question," Cole thought. "Any ideas?"
"Checkers!" Suggested Garret.
"Cards against Humanity!" Suggested Aiden.
"Monopoly!" Suggested Miles.
"Candy Land!" Suggested Adeline.
"Poker!" Suggested Cate.
