The Grand Masquerade

Chapter 5

A coach barges into the room and Summer says "Who the fuck are you?"
The coach shouts "HUSTLE PEOPLE, HUSTLE!" Everybody starts running and following her for which seems like forever until they finally make it to the beach volleyball court. The coach starts explaining "You eight people will each be split into two teams of four by splitting this deck of cards." She splits the deck in two."On team one is the journalist, the explorer, the renegade and the savant. On team two is the tycoon, the fashionista, the thespian, and the veteran. Team one on the left side team two on the right side. Team one is tails team who is heads." She flips the quarter. "Heads it is. First team to fifteen wins and gets to choose who dies on the opposite team." She rolls the ball to the right side. Haylee has first serve. *whistle*

The score is six to two, team one is winning. Haylee and Summer are decent players on team two trying to even out the score, but team one is just too good. They're playing through. People are diving for the ball and eating dirt/sand. Cameron stubs his toe on something going for the ball, he bends down to see what it is and it was a gem hiding in the dirt. He is afraid that the coach might take it away so he hides it in one of his small pockets. The game is about to end with a score of fourteen to four when Krystal (who is on team one) pops her heel so she has to sit out. The teacher takes her place, he messes the whole entire team up. Team two manages to catch up ten to fourteen just because of the teacher. Summer serves the ball over to the left side and it goes straight to the teacher once again, Krystal is arguing with the coach because she won't let her back on because of injury. When the ball is about to go to the teacher Hailey body checks him out of the way and spikes it down. A horn goes off.
Joshie yells "We won the game!"

They're having a group hug when the teacher walks over and says "Now that you guys have won, go to the black table behind you where there are four plates with each person's name from the opposite team on them." The team already knew who they were choosing. Krystal walks to the table picks up the plate that says 'Cameron' and walks back over with it and smashes it on the post for the volleyball net. Team two is all holding hands because they don't know who is chosen. The coach gets a light in her eyes picks up a basketball, throws it at Cameron's head and it explodes, but all of a sudden a yellow gem comes flying out of his small pocket.

Julie walks over and picks up the yellow gem and asks, "Was he a secret lieutenant?"
Joshie responds "He couldn't have been." This starts a whole argument and out of nowhere the coach and the teacher start laughing hysterically,
The coach says with laughter in her voice "The gem was planted on the court, he found it and was afraid I'd take it away. I don't blame him, why wouldn't I take it away?"
Krystal responds with "That was a bitch move" she punches the coach as hard as she can in the face, it kills her.
The teacher says quickly "Alright, time to go."
Krystal crouches over to her and checks her pockets, she finds a blue feather and a green gem. She mutters "Thanks bitch."

They make it back to the classroom, Julie puts the yellow gem on the desk and Krystal puts the green along with the blue feather into the next slot.
The teacher says "Oh yes, I forgot to tell you since the gems are true there is already one on the mirror so you guys only need to find six."
Haylee responds with "Sounds good, now what's next?"
The teacher says "Hope that nobody here is afraid of fish."
