"A long time ago before you two were born, your mother and I went with Ursula, Maleficent, and Cruella to find out what Regina had planned. After the journey we found out that your mother was pregnant." David said looking to them.

They continued to listen, both of them a bit nervous as to what was going to be said next. "Maleficent told us that you had just enough potential for darkness as you did for light. It scared us and we looked for a way to fix it. We went to look for a way to help you and we found a unicorn. It gave us both visions of what would happen to you when you grew." Mary Margaret replied.

"My vision showed me holding one of you as a baby." David said looking to them.

"Mine... showed one of you pulling out my heart and crushing it." She said as Maya's eyes widened lightly. "We wanted to make sure that you wouldn't become what my vision suggested. After a while we found out there were two of you and we came across the sorcerer. He told us there was a way to cleanse you from the darkness and we decided to take his offer. We would do anything for you two." Mary Margaret said as she played with a key in her hand.

"The sorcerer said we needed to transfer the darkness. We heard rumor that Maleficent spawned an egg and we decided that we could put the darkness in the egg." David said as Maya and Emma became worried. This story was turning for the worse.

"The sorcerer ended up casting a spell on the egg, but he didn't tell us all that would happen. The egg got sucked into a portal with Ursula and Cruella. Before it got sucked in-" she paused. "-we realized it was a human child. The baby got taken from maleficent and it left with the darkness you both once had."

"You did what?" Maya said quietly with a crack in her voice. Her and Emma both felt extremely saddened by what they heard. Everything they had been was a lie. Because of their parents, a child was filled with darkness.

"How could you?" Emma asked looking to them. They were both on the brink of tears. "All that time I wanted to believe that you were telling the truth, that you weren't lying to us, but you were."

"You were lying the whole time?" Maya said as a tear fell. She couldn't believe her parents betrayed them in such a way.

"We are sorry, we really are. We did it to save you both. We tried to save Maleficents child to but-" Mary Margaret started.

"No you didn't." Emma responded angrily. "You- you put darkness inside of it. If anything you made things worse for it."

"I wanted to believe you. That you were telling the truth and that you were doing the right thing." Maya said looking to her mom and then her dad.

"But ever since we have been. We've been working so hard to pay for what we did." David answered as he was ready eyed along with Mary Margaret. "We just wanted to protect you."

"Emma are you all right?" Hook asked reaching for her hand as she pulled it away and stood up.

"No. I've gotta go." She said walking towards the door.

"Emma wait. I'm your mother." Mary Margaret said looking to her eldest daughter.

"I don't care." Emma replied as she walked out with the page and the key, closing the door.

Maya sat there and looked at her dad. "Who was it?" She asked another tear falling. "Who pulled out your heart?" Maya asked looking over to her mother.

"I don't-" she started seeming hurt from Emma's recent actions.

"Don't lie again." Maya said looking to her standing up. "Who was it?" She looked to her dad. "Could you tell which baby it was?" She asked trying not to yell.
