"If we're quiet, they won't hear us," Taako hummed from his position next to Kravitz.

Kravitz averted his gaze at hearing such suggestive words, thoroughly flustered. "Taako, dear, I don't think you understand how things work here. We're in the Raven Queen's domain; she'll know what we're doing the moment we start. I mean, she's an actual goddess."

"She may be a goddess, but I think all of this hot stuff-" He gestured to his body. "-is far more divine."

In the small, enclosed closet located only a few doors down from the Raven Queen's office, Kravitz's darkvision allowed him to see Taako almost perfectly. The way Taako was looking at him was almost enough to convince the reaper to disregard his worry concerning his boss-- almost, but not quite enough. "As much as I'd love to experience that divinity firsthand, I'd rather not my boss know just how active our sex lives are. I feel as though that would be a tad bit unprofessional."

"Listen, Bubbleh." Taako shifted in the darkness, leaning himself into Kravitz with a mischievous grin. "If I was scared of death, I wouldn't be dating one of her emissaries, now would I? So I say we disappear these little doubts you're having and get right into it."

Kravitz shook his head, unconvinced. "Even so, it'd be poor taste to do things with each other despite being privy to the knowledge that she could hear every little sound. Honestly, you aren't supposed to be here with me in the first place! I'm sure she's just turning a blind eye for my benefit."

Taako waved his hand dismissively. "I'll cast a mad powerful silencing spell, alright? I'll even throw in a few other precautionary spells if it'll make you feel better."

Kravitz sighed. He always ended up giving in. "If we're really doing this, then I refuse to go all the way."

"That's chill," Taako assured him, "even if we're not doing much, I know I'll be satisfying enough for you. Come on, look at me; I'm packin'!" Again, Taako gestured to his body.

Kravitz nodded, only half-paying attention to Taako's words. Most of his focus was on the silence on the other side of the closet door-- and how long that silence would last.

He stiffened in surprise as Taako leaned in and pressed his full, elven lips to his own. Of course, Kravitz still wasn't completely convinced that what they were doing was a good idea, but the warmth Taako's touch provoked was sure to ease the reaper's nerves, even if just by a little. The wizard in question, on the other hand, didn't care at all about the sanctity of the Raven Queen's domain in the least bit and fully intended to further his partner's embarrassment.

Slipping his hands beneath the hem of Kravitz's shirt to run them along his abdomen, Taako fought back the urge to shiver in response to the coldness of Kravitz's skin. It was one thing for Kravitz to warm himself before embracing Taako, but an entirely different thing for the elf to make contact with the reaper's frigidly cold skin without properly preparing himself.

As Kravitz's lips parted against Taako's in reaction, the closet flooded with light. Kravitz instinctively tore himself away to face the intrusion, eyes wide in shame and nervousness.

"And what exactly," the smooth, cool voice of the Raven Queen sounded as she looked down to study Kravitz's disheveled appearance, "is going on here?"

Taako, not even bothering to address her holiness, adjusted his clothes and smoothed out any wrinkles that had made their way onto the fabric. Even as Kravitz shot him a look, wondering why Taako hadn't cast the spells they'd agreed on, Taako just shrugged.

"Spell slots, my man," Taako muttered in explanation.

Before Kravitz could respond, the Raven Queen cleared her throat. She was patient, but not enough so to sit through the beginnings of a lover's quarrel. "Kravitz."

"My deepest apologies, my queen," he replied immediately as he refocused his attention onto her. "It seems I must've gotten a bit carried away."

The goddess looked over to Taako, her gaze as judging as it was calculating. "And why, may I ask, is he here in the first place? He's avoided dying with a passion thus far, so what business does he have coming to this domain with you?"

Taako flashed the Raven Queen a lazy grin. "I figured I'd take the chance to meet my future in-law."

Kravitz flushed red with embarrassment. "Future in-law?"

"Hells yeah, my dude," Taako drawled. "We're going to get married one day, for sure. Having an entire event where I get to outdress everyone and be the center of attention? Count me in."

The Raven Queen raised an eyebrow, but said nothing against Taako's spiel. She had to admit, she was fairly curious about the man who had so easily managed to sway somebody as rational and disciplined as Kravitz. "Very well. Please, allow me to invite you into my office. Surely, it would be a more appropriate location to have such a conversation."

With a dismissing wave of her hand, the three were whisked away to the dim, minimalist room that the Raven Queen bid the vastness of her time in. She sat in the sleek, black leather chair behind her desk, interlacing her fingers and placing her hands on the smooth ebony wood of her desk. Facing her from the other side of the desk were Kravitz and Taako, seated on a small couch that the Raven Queen had provided.

"Where are my manners?" the she chided herself. "Allow me to put on some tea."

Seconds later, each of the office's occupants had porcelain cups of black tea positioned in front of them, a soft stream of steam rising from the surface of the dark liquid. Taako wasted no time, bringing the lip of the teacup to his mouth and allowing the warmth of the liquid to spill over his tongue. After drinking a few sips and indulging in the taste, he placed it back down onto his saucer. "Hot damn, this tea is godly."

"Well," Kravitz piped up from his seat next to Taako, "that would make sense, considering the situation, now wouldn't it?"

The Raven Queen didn't humor the two with a response. "Now, I'm fully aware of how the two of you met." Her gaze wandered over to Kravitz accusingly as she alluded to the infamous bounty hunting mission she'd sent him on. "So, I suppose that there isn't much to discuss in that respect. Tell me, though, what is it that you see in each other? What thrall has been strong enough to build such an unconventional relationship?"

Kravitz sighed from his seat. He knew that his deity had taken an interest in the person that had dodged death with such skill, the elf going so far as to convince a grim reaper to drop he and his friends' bounty altogether, but he had never guessed that she'd be ready to drill he and his partner on their love life. "My lady, I don't think this is very appro-"

Taako cut him off, always willing to talk about himself and his likes. "It hit me the moment he stepped out of that godforsaken mirror. It was the first time I'd looked into a mirror and seen something I enjoyed more than my own appearance."

[Author's note: I love Kravitz and Taako's relationship so much and I was in tears at their reunion in the finale. Anyway, have this oneshot!]
